There are several things this could be. Take it in and get it diagnosed. It's under warranty, so no worries. Things like this happen.

Sounds like a bad rocker. Unfortunately a common thing on the 3.6, but usually not until it gets closer to 100k miles.

It’s a pretty minor issue if you stop it early enough. Can be done in a day with just a few cheap parts.

Dropped it off today, Buhler Jeep. Zero hassle, zero bullshit. I said it was the rocker and the immediately agreed and said I’d have it back on Monday since they have the parts in stock. They said 1 day job.

Doesn't matter what you paid - stuff breaks. Ask Cadillac owners who have the steering lock up, or Mercedes owners - about 1,000,000 of them, recalled because the sun roof flies out on the highway (you can bet they aren't much good after that)
It happens even to the best.

Not common to have only a follower bad without cam issues on these. On a pre-2016 3.6, yeah, but not so much on these. It's often the cam AND follower that go.
Could be lucky - but not something to hold one's breath over.

Depends on how quick he caught it. I’ve seen them with very minor cam wear and it didn’t need replacing.
