I have a check engine light that came on 2 weeks ago. we had a code read and it showed it was this canister purge valve. WE cleared it put on a new gas cap on and cleared the check engine light. It came back on a week later showing the same thing again. It's showing this needs to be replaced it came on again same code read. how important is this to get replaced as soon as possible I read that the fumes can back up and do more problems to the motor or something I mean it doesn't look like much of a part but it's just some labor involved I don't know how to do it and just wondering how long can I drive around with this part not being good because it does evaporate the gas units which I think would be kind of important they're going to back up somewhere anyone know how important this is to get changed out pretty quick or not or we can do damage if I don't get it fixed quick?
