I’ve been talking with a dealer over the last few days. He knew I initially wanted 4.88 in a manual Rubicon and I told him I wanted to see pricing for an automatic…

He said he was able to leave the 4.88 gearing on the automatic build sheet so he sent it over like that. Has anyone else seen this??

Pic below for reference of what I was sent…

I’m not sure what’s up with that. That’s been on pricing sheets from other dealers too.
If it’s like mine, invoice is more than MSRP on that gas.

Edit, now that I look at it, it still is. 12 invoice 0 MSRP.

I’m much less concerned with $12 for gas than I am knowing if 4.88s are possible from the factory on an automatic lol

I wish I could help but I don't know, seems like it would be awesome to have those from the factory, I have poor man's jlu with 3.45 gears and auto 3.6

POC is the way. If it’s on there you should get it.

I thought it was odd that Jeep only offers the 4.88s with the Manual. Should he interesting if your order actually goes through with the Automatic. Keep us posted.

Yeah especially since the XR package got the 4.56 in an automatic obviously.

I’m not mechanically inclined but would the “computer” or what not automatically know what “to do” with the 4.88 gears from the factory? Do they have to do anything different with the Jeep when not putting the standard 4.10s in it?

It should be set from the factory. If your set on the 3.6 I’d grab it.

It was a late availability for the auto and 4.88s. Sounds like they’re here. Cool

I just built one on the Jeep configurator site. It does let you build an automatic with 4.88s, as long as you don't select the XR package. Seems odd that you are forced to go with the 4.56s with the XR package, but it may just be a limitation of the configurator. I wonder if the dealer could sub 4.88s with the XR when submitting an order?

Thought it wasn't available w/auto on the 2-door Rubicon, but reading the most recent order guide, it seems likes it's now possible..

4.88 REAR AXLE RATIO
M/H ERC OR ERG; N/A W/22R; NA W/EC1
ERC=3.6 ESS; ERG=3.6 eTorque; 22R=2.0/AUTO; EC1=2.0 (M/H=must have; N/A=not available)

Sounds like I may be in luck since 35s or 37s would be in the near future after receiving the Jeep. This would save me money up front by having the 4.88s off the bat.
