First time posting, thanks for letting me join the group. Have never owned a Jeep but have wanted one since 2007 when the 4 door model arrived. At times I have struggled with the mission of the Wrangler versus my intended use (daily driver, may or may not ever go off roading), that it is “less polished” than most daily drivers.

But not getting any younger, and over half of it will be paid for by a small inheritance combined with a small insurance settlement so why the hell not now?

My question revolves around what seems to be a glitch in the online build configurator. If I’m trying to build a Sahara, it won’t let me add the V6 ETorque engine even though it shows up as a choice. The 2.0L and the diesel can be selected no problem. I’ve done this like a dozen times, and this doesn’t happen on any other models I’m looking at (or in the case of a 392 drooling over). You can spec out a V6 for the Sahara correct?

I would talk with a dealer to see what can actually be built. We used Mark Dodge in LA and they were able to add the anti-spin diff (limited slip) to a manual transmission build where the online configurator would not do so.

The configurator always seems to have weird issues, even for other Stellantis brands.

Looks like it's available in the latest guide. For an $2000 MSRP upcharge over the more powerful 2.0T:

The online build tool is notoriously buggy and inaccurate. It's good to get a starting idea, but you should use the interactive build sheets on this forum and your chosen dealer to know precisely what is and isn't available to order together.

There are literally hundreds of pages of discussion about the 3.6L vs the 2.0T, but I'll tell you that I drove them both back-to-back before I placed my order. The 3.6L felt more like driving my '06 GMC Sierra with the 4.8L - really felt like it was working hard just to get up to speed, and it was a bit slow to shift, like it needed a second to decide on the right gear.

The 2.0T, on the other hand, is peppy as hell; easily got up to (and over...) speed, shifts felt almost anticipated by the drivetrain, etc. I'm just over a year into my '21 Sahara Altitude with the 2.0T, have put 20K+ miles on it driving it from Texas to Colorado, Eastern Tennessee, and Florida, and just enjoy the hell out of this engine.

I would also encourage you to price out a Sahara Altitude if you're adding almost *any* options to your Sahara build. When I ordered mine, with the options I was adding, it was $300 *cheaper* to get the Altitude package.

It may be something to do with whatever options you have chosen. Some will not be available with certain drive trains and may force other engines. Just a thought.

I jumped on and tried it, same result. No other options selected. Looked like a system bug.

I bought my 2022 Sahara with a 6-spd manual, but the system won't let you build a 2023 Sahara with a manual. I even checked my dealer and he couldn't configure one with a manual either. I had to order a Rubicon to get the 6-spd, and a body colored hard top.

First, thank you very much for suggesting the High Altitude, for some reason I never looked closely at it. For what I want, the price slots right between a Sahara and Rubicon and has some cool stuff inside. My only initial misgiving is the lack of exterior colors.

My personal thought on the now very common 2.0L T that most automakers have, is that for my 240 hp Ford Escape that weighs 3,500 lbs it is a great fit. For moving around a 4,200 lb Wrangler with the CD of a house, I'm not sure about the longevity...plus they must have raised the boost to get 270 hp.

Haven't ruled it out, just trying to think my way through it.

Thanks....I know I'm crazy but I didn't think it was this bad.

Either the order guide (posted on the forum) or NADA’s new car pricing seems to work better.

side note, there are discount dealers listed here that will go several percent under invoice, and check out tread lightly if you don’t have affiliate through work.

Thank you, after reading about it I did join up, and after 8-10 calls, did find a dealer willing to take it. I need to start calling out of town dealers also.....but I do have a trade to sell also.

Look for @Ratbert ’s discount dealer list, I wouldn’t waste time with calling around.
