Great idea. Would be good to see everyone who’s received theirs’ from Gupton post up with build description and pic of their new ride along with an order date and delivery date. Hoping I’m just a couple weeks away from being able to contribute.

I was thinking I would quietly lurk awaiting my 3/3 order to be delivered. At least I think it's in D1 as of last week.

There’s already one huge thread for Gupton buyers.

https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/gupton-roll-call-and-updates-on-2022-orders.85291/

But, sure, here’s mine. Ordered November 11th, delivered January 23rd, picked up the 28th.

Manual, 2-door soft top Rubicon obvs. 5500 miles so far (trip back from Tennessee, then a round trip to Florida).

The idea here is for those who have taken possession from Gupton.

I won't bitch about not having it yet here.
I will probably bitch about all the stuff that is wrong with it tho.

Hopefully I have nothing to complain about.
Perish the thought. ?

So, got Hazel home. Since it was raining, I didn't get to look her over at Gupton's and honesty, what are you gonna do about it anyway.

Got her in the garage and looked her over the best I could (cuz it is raining here too).
I see no issues and I hate to tell you, but Hydro is a really awesome color.

I wrote a review, but bottom line is this transaction was as smooth as the first.

So my total journey lasted from June 18th, 2021 until April 5th, 2022

I found this forum and lurked for probably 3 weeks before I joined on June 26, 2021 about a week after I ordered my Hella.

This forum and you guys/gals are the reason I ended up at Guptons, many thinks.

Like many of you I'm sure, I've wanted a Wrangler for years. Admit I was pretty Jelly when I'd see people tooling around in a stripped Wrangler. One thing I noticed tho was a majority of them, around here anyway, acted arrogant and all aloof. My goal from the start is to help change that perception. I hope to be the most approachable and unassuming Wrangler driver ever.

After scouring this forum, I decided on Gupton's as my vendor. Due to my financial situation at the time and my unwavering goal to pay cash, I bought one of the cheapest 4-door Wrangler they make. Only options were auto, 2.0 Turbo and Block Heater.

I choose Hella Yella because, well it is undeniably the best color ever, especially for a Jeep where I want to convey openness and fun. They say "Those who choose to drive a yellow vehicle are fun, energetic, cheerful and have a sense of humor." That describes me very well except they left out "Master Level Smartass and Funny As Hell". Sadly Hella was discontinued the Monday after I ordered.

So I ordered June 18, 2021 and picked it up 4 months later on October 1, 2021

While I loved the color (Virtually all my friends and my family hated it), in the end, the lack of power windows and locks was a real issue for me. Also, because it was so unique around this area, I was called out many times such as "Oh I saw you were at xxxxxx yesterday". Kinda creepy.

In the period between, when I ordered the Hella and received it, my finances got a boost which would allow me to get what I wanted and pay cash.

Combine that with the car market peaking and Carvana wanting my low mileage rig, it was a once in a lifetime, no-brainer to let her go and order another Wrangler.

As I mentioned Hella was long gone. I feel a Wrangler is a fun ride and the color should reflect that attribute. Black, White and all the sliver/greys were obviously out and I'm not a fan of the other "color colors", except I sorta liked Hydro, tho I hadn't saw one in person.

So on December 16 (which turned out to be the production start date for the 22's) I order another Wrangler only this time a Sport S in Hydro Blue, which meant power locks, windows and mirrors. I added the dual top group and Mopar doors off mirror kit.

A month later on January 16th, Carvana's offer on my Hella took a big jump and I locked it in. Carvana picked it up and paid me on Febuary 15th.

So I ordered the Hydro on December 16, 2021 and picked it up 4 months later on April 5, 2022

In running the final numbers it looks like I ended up with a $43K Wrangler for $35K, including Tread Lightly Membership, 4 Airfares, 3 hotel stays and food.

And I have to tell you, this Hydro is absolutely beautiful. What is funny is the friends that didn't just outright tell me they hated the yellow, now they all are cooing over this blue.

In as far as mods, she will remain virtually stock. She will get the Weathertech front flaps, trailer hitch, running tubes, color coordinated seat covers and sunshade. Possibly add a 2" lift and some larger wheels/tires later, but those are not important to me right now.

I also have a brand new Tazer Mini, that I haven't installed yet. Looking forward to getting that in.

Oh and I purchased some blue LED light strip I'll be installing sometime under the dash and seats.

Oh and I'll upgrade the audio sometime too, but no hurry.

So that's my story. Would luv to hears yours sometime.

@LuvHydro enjoyed your story. Glad you got the JL you wanted. I’ll be getting my Gray delivered from Guptons next week.

Good for you!

Bought Joyride from Gupton late last summer. Actually picked up at the same time as @IAJeepguy, which was pretty cool - got to compare builds and let our wives chit-chat for a bit.

This is when I picked her up - the build thread is in the signature.

This weekend the top comes off and I have Alien Sunshades, Diver Down seat covers, and a MOPAR steel front bumper with Rockhard4x4 bull bar to put on.

@LuvHydro Gotta admit, Hydro would be my first choice if I was buying a new one now, since Hella is gone. Great color.

I love Hydro as well, and really wanted it but... there's always a but... the Rubicon version comes with red accents. For some reason those two colors just don't work for me. I even tracked one down at a dealer just to see if in real life it could be livable. Nope. In a perfect world I'd be able to get a Hydro Rubicon with the 4XE blue accent interior, in fact I expect that will be available on the very next order sheet as I've already taken the order plunge and don't want to rewind the clock.

Story Time:

My current Jeep is a 2006 LJ Rubicon, which I ordered two of back in 2006 (we each need our own Jeep, otherwise we'd drive each other crazy with comments when the other is driving). Still have the red one, it's not as modified as my black one, those two are identical from the factory including sequential VIN's. For as much as everyone says the old inline 4.0 is a bulletproof engine, it's possible to break a rocker arm which in turn gets caught up with a valve, bending it and sending additional debris deep down into the engine only to be churned back up into other moving parts necessitating a full engine rebuild.

Since the engine needed a complete tear down I figured I'd go above and beyond and do the 4.7 Stroker conversion. Turns out, in a 2005-06 the stroker conversion is best described as a science experiment, with the end result that my Jeep was out of commission pretty much all of last year. I've kind of known that a JL would eventually become the third current Jeep in the garage (that included at times 2 CJ-7's and an XJ). One day in January on a break from trying out yet a different set of fuel injectors I saw a guy with a newly delivered JL in Snazzberry and decided right then and there that the time had come to advance the schedule from 2024 and just go for a 2022.

From then on, deep dive research showed me that Snazzberry was no longer available, nor Hydro for the reason above and black was out because, well, not another black Jeep. Research also got me to Gupton as being the best place to order from (dealers in Colorado don't discount much, these days not at all). I finally ordered in the middle of February, figured it'd be a long shot if it came in before Easter Jeep Safari in Moab but pretty sure I'll have it before the snow completely melts in the higher elevation Colorado trails.

And true to form, a few days after the initial order went in with Renee and Daniel I figured out the right combination of everything that works on the LJ and it roared back to life and has been running and driving fine ever since. I still want the JL and count the days to when I get to pick it up in Tennessee.
