Just got my factory ordered 2022 JL Rubicon and noticed, no engine cover under hood. the mounts for cover was left open.
Reached out to jeep customer care and dealer. They mentioned it no longer providing and its ok to leave the mounts open.
Do anyone noticed it ?
If yes, make a complaint to jeep customer care. so they will review it again.

I think the question should be: "Why do you want it"

Other than someone saying "it looks pretty", what function does it have? In my opinion, it should have never been included to begin with.

I think there was a 50page thread on this months ago BTW - search is your friend.

As pointed out, this horse is already dead, no need to keep beating it. In addition, it's superfluous, unnecessary and in some cases better not to have the cover.

@chris@k you should contact Jeep and let them know what a good move this was.

If the mounting holes are still there, then it's not exactly 'unnecessary' imo, but whatev. It's not like not getting one saved you any money or that you couldn't have easily removed it yourself if so desired. But, yeah congrats on getting less I guess? ?

Ford did this on the Ranger in 2020. However, Ford is the King of penny pinchers.

I noticed that today as well. I have about 225 miles on the odometer and saw this stuff on the hood insulation. Is there a 50 page thread on insulation gunk? Trying to determine if she'll be catching on fire soon.

She's only been in dry conditions. No rain or snow yet.

It wasn't there when you received it? Pretty strange.

Did you have it undercoated? Was thinking maybe some of the spray from below caused that, but not sure.. just an idea.
