merciles, have you heard anything back from he dealer as to whether they think this is normal or if they have a proposal for a fixBrought mine back in last week for this and I hope that won't be my result.
No, haven't heard anything, which is fine. They furnished a rental so they can keep it there as long as needed. I leave for Alaska on Friday for a couple of weeks so would be nice to get it back before I leave. I'll update how it is when theyre finished with it.merciles, have you heard anything back from he dealer as to whether they think this is normal or if they have a proposal for a fix
I would if I were you. Apparently Jeep is aware of the situation and working with dealerships on a fix. The more info service centers can collect on the noise will aid in a permanent correction.Just bought my first ever new vehicle...and its a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JL Sport-S! Test drove with the top off. Drive it home and I hear the annoying high pitched whistling noise, single window open pressure effect. Should I contact dealer to get this taken care of? Took the windshield down...got nervous I was going to mess with the wrong bolts.

Update on having the Jeep in for wind noise:
I took it in 4/24/18, and the staff there seemed to downplay the wind noise issue, saying my hardtop was probably not adjusted right. I explained to them all the posts in this forum, yet they still had a sort of lackadaisical attitude about it.
About 1pm in the afternoon, I received a call from a Jeep Care consultant in Michigan, and he was very interested in the issue and genuinely showed concern over how the dealer was handling it. He explained that there have been multiple complaints of generalized excessive wind noise, and how even though Jeeps are off road and gritty vehicles, they are designed with premium quality and should not have so much noise.
He then called my Jeep dealer, and when I went and picked my Jeep up, their tone had changed. They explained to me that they were going to start a “Star report” and an engineer would look into the issue since there has been so many reports. I’m assuming they are essentially in the early stages of a recall fix of some sort and they are amassing info until they can find a consistent solution. He said they weren’t sure if the gasket around the front window may be the issue and if so, they would probably have to manufacture new replacements and then switch them out.
The dealer said once he was recontacted by the Jeep engineer, they would bring my vehicle back in. Also, everyone that is in the Jeep Wave program has a complimentary rental while your Jeep is in the shop.
So hopefully this is the beginning of the solution! I’m optimistic! I still love the JL, but I’ll love it even more with less wind noise!
It’s was noticeable over 40mph; and when driving highway speeds, it was very noisy; as if you were driving a normal vehicle in 50mph crosswinds. I didn’t necessarily hear any high pitched whines, just as if I was in a wind tunnel.how bad was your noise?
is it high-speed only?
Hi ericccccc, just got my first Jeep last night. it's a great car.
in city speed, the car is smooth and responsive, not too much noise.
however, on high way, above 50 mph, theres a high-pitch whistling sound, i have hard top, need to check it out today to make it it's not something sticks out on the top.
I'm glad to hear it seems the proper teams were able to get in contact with your dealer. We would like to check in and make sure that your dealer reached out to the suggested resources to look into this further.Update on having the Jeep in for wind noise:
