The bronco soft top looks like a prototype. Like when they drive those test vehicles around that are covered in camo and garbage bag looking covers. Ford should have just sold the soft broncos without the soft tops and told buyers they were delayed, then release them in about a year when nobody cares any more.

saw a bronco soft top last week near my house. Looked really good! ….except for the soft top lol

Apparently, Ford claims Bronco has more “suspension travel”, not more “articulation.”

Of course suspension travel is meaningless if you can’t articulate it.

Ford appears content to leave that misunderstanding hang out there.
wouldnt suspension travel pertain more towards fast offroad driving, like they show in their videos. Bronco seems to soak up uneven desert trails at soeed with ease, inlike a wrangler. I think these are going to be hugely popular here in so cal what with all the raptors and pre-runners running around. And then theres the warthog coming…, which will sell like overpriced crack!

As someone earlier pointed out...they intentionaly look like that because the back window does not remove like Jeep instead you lift at the tailgate bar and the whole back shebang has to have give to lift meaning the windows could not be tight. Called easy load feature here is a vid.

Considering I have not seen any place an oem JL can go the 21 Bronco can’t go, you’re in for a world of disappointment.

Sorry I was not clear, most people see the full blown Bronco sport on the road and say they don’t like it.
The actual Bronco is in the hands of very few owners and the odds of seeing one is astronomical. Now you may have seen the dealer loaners that are showing up on the roads.
But I do agree not everyone likes the same things, your JL aftermarket wheels are horrible in my opinion.

It’s wide compared to the CJ but so is the JL.

Shows a heavily modified rig and touts as being Oem. Nice! Interesting thing is the new oem badlands with factory winch and sas can probably go anywhere that can go.

That’s why you drive a CJ because the new JK/JL are too wide.
Opinions vary .....

Question. Why are you here?

Or better yet, what are your thoughts about the sasquatch front shock mounting bolts that will inevitably get sheared off by the 1st mound of dirt that reaches them? When the bronco is crippled on the trail, the owner of that expensive paperweight is who will be in a "world of disappointment".

Sounds more like a back peddling excuse for a lousy design.

Bronco appears to do everything with ease...on video.

If you look closely, promotional videos of Bronco dashing through the desert are in fact played in fast motion...for the desired effect.

When Raptor first appeared, some owners would drive them as they saw on the promotional videos; a few of them ended with bent frames. Ford had to subsequently strengthen the frames on Raptors so they could actually do what the videos promised.

If Ford really wanted to compete with Jeep, they never should have used IFS. As it is now, I don’t even consider it a good thing for Jeep as far as competition, there just isn’t any IMO.
Plus IFS is harder to work on with lifting vs a solid axle

OP nice write up and brave post saying something good about the Bronco in the jlwranglerforums.com err broncobashingforums.com. Bronco sure looks promising and looks to handle just about anything a Wrangler can conquer especially doing tight turns on Black Bear pass with that turning function it has.
It's fun watching fanboys whimper. It's like poking a bear.

There's plenty room in this world for two world class off roaders that come straight from the factory.

Yea the soft top is definitely flawed.

Still waiting to see my first one on the roads. There's no way I'm entering the vehicle market with the way things are anytime soon, but if my jeep gets another $700+ repair in the coming months I'm gonna start looking at my options.

Maybe a convertible mini cooper lol

The Bronco is a sissy version of the original. All Ford did was buy a wrangler, and do things to advertise deeper water fording, and approach angles. In real world the are no better than 4runner. They are for tools that want to go back and forth to work, and feel cool. It won't handle going off road a lot like a Wrangler. Costs to modify are going to be crazy. My buddy at a Ford store brought one buy, and I'm very unimpressed. If you want a Bronco, go buy it, and save the Jeeps for people that appreciate them for what they are.

Definitely bigger. I like the fenders on the Bronco better than the Jeep. I find it interesting Ford claims the Bronco articulates like 16% more when Jeep clearly wins. For a really good look at the difference watch this video from about 20:30 it shows a Bronco and Rubicon on the same section of trail and clearly shows the Jeep articulates better.
Video
Someone pointed out that Ford said 17% more wheel travel and has since been repeated as articulation.
Don’t know if that’s true but I read it on the internet as did you.

Just drove a 4 dr outer banks.
It drove just like a Ford and what I’d expect. Roomy inside with comfortable seats up front.
Window controls are in a weird spot.
Love the info screen and the backing camera/overhead view setup.
interior was nice enough overall.
Hate the strut on the tailgate.
Back seat beyond sucks. To straight up.
I did think it had a very tight feeling suspension(stiff)

surprises- 2.7 did not impress. I believe my 3.6 will beat it and it had street tires.
-It pulls a super tight u turn. Probably real close to my JLUR.
