But I do agree not everyone likes the same things, your JL aftermarket wheels are horrible in my opinion.

Thanks. I really like them. And since it is mine, I put on it what I liked. Did not ask anyone else’s opinion.

But next time I get wheels I will be sure to ask around for everyone’s opinion and $0.02.

Ford is all fine and dandy, until your steering column catches fire,
in the middle of the night, and its parked in your garage.
( i have first hand experience)
On the bright side it's a Ford so it will probably be in the shop when it catches fire.

I get a kick out of the notion that the Bronco is so much larger. 2 inches difference on width... The JL is a large vehicle on the trail period. The narrow low hood I definitely appreciate but the notion that the Wrangler, especially an unlimited is a tidy vehicle on the trail is absurd. Both are a good 20 inches narrower than a full size truck, that is big, the Bronco isn't big...
I need to see a tape measure on actual body dimensions. Track width means nothing, I'll put a tire on a rock or tree all day long. The body looks like it's a hell of a lot wider than 2". The squeeze on pinyon mountain is one place where even 2" would likely result in body damage, and before the tree at the bottom of big sluice fell our jk had mm to spare between the door on 1 side and the rear glass into the tree. 2" isn't a huge difference, but for a trail rigs body, wider definitely isn't better.

I don't know how to break this to you, but neither Fiat nor Chrysler have a reputation for making fantastic products. Adding the PSA group brands isn't going to help.

S ....fun car!
Yea, a family member has been leasing Mini Coopers for like 9 years now and they absolutely love the vehicles. They have an S right now and I got a chance to drive it. Dang that engine purrs and it's wicked fun to drive!

Just drove a 4 dr outer banks.
It drove just like a Ford and what I’d expect. Roomy inside with comfortable seats up front.
Window controls are in a weird spot.
Love the info screen and the backing camera/overhead view setup.
interior was nice enough overall.
Hate the strut on the tailgate.
Back seat beyond sucks. To straight up.
I did think it had a very tight feeling suspension(stiff)

surprises- 2.7 did not impress. I believe my 3.6 will beat it and it had street tires.
-It pulls a super tight u turn. Probably real close to my JLUR.
The back seats recline too. Would love to have that on my JLU.

We've owned 20+ vehicles in the last 25 years, every jeep (89xj, 95zj, 01 wj, 06 jk) had over 200k trouble free miles with nothing more than maintenance, a starter, or water pump replacement. Our 2019 JLUR is pushing 40k without issue. Ford on the other hand, 06 superduty with every issue you can think of by 120k (ficm twice, oil cooler, egr cooler, stc fitting, head studs, stand pipes, etc) 2013 focus with multiple transmission failures, bent shift forks, transmission control module failure, and a rear control arm that literally ripped in half on the freeway all within the 1st 120k. 07 e350 that spit spark plugs out of the head right around 100k. Assuming the Bronco is anything like their other junk of the last 20 years, the comfy new seats will provide a nice place to wait for the tow truck.

Many have had nothing but good luck with Ford. I have never had a bad one myself, not even close. I did make the mistake of buying a new Power Wagon from DC in 2015, probably the worst vehicle I ever owned... You have been lucky with Jeeps, it is no accident they are so poorly rated, most of the people I know with them have had issues. My co-worker just put a new engine in her JK at 65k miles because it ate a rocker arm. I have a new Super Duty on order because I wouldn't have another Ram. So far so good with our JL, it has made it 2500 miles so far without a failure

I might be lucky, but my experience is 100% true. My 2017 rebel is at 98k trouble free miles, including 100+mph in the desert, hauling as heavy as a 2800lb pallet over 80 miles up to the foot hills in the bed (thanks to the air ride it was still level at well over the rated capacity), and towing the Jeep (about 8500lbs combined with the trailer and loaded with camping gear) 2300+ miles out to your neck of the woods and back earlier this month at speeds as high as 85mph, and dragging that same load all the way up last dollar rd from the 62 side to camp at the top. After our Ford experiences, when I told the wife I was buying a new truck, she said "anything but a Ford". Good luck with the super duty, but I will never buy another one.

That's awesome, but it's also anecdotal. To counter with my own, my '18 JLU is currently in the shop waiting on a 700-dollar repair. Not fun.

I've had it 3.5 years so far, and it's been...mixed, I would say. My first Uconnect system got fried, but the dealer replaced it under warranty and without much issue, though they had to wait for the replacement for a few days.

I had a weird occurrence right near the end of my warranty when a piece of metal sheared off my transfer case and tried to destroy my drive train. Thankfully I was still under warranty for that. I can only imagine how much that would have run me.

But yea, definitely not the smoothest 3 years I've known in a vehicle but also not the worst. Wouldn't really wanna do it again, though, to be honest. I think the next big repair bill I get on this puppy will be my last and then I'm trying something else. Hopefully I get a couple more years out of it, though. Life's too short to not try other things, at any rate. It's good to have experience with what's out there instead of just armchair quarterbacking everything.

Anecdotal for sure, but I'd hardly call sharing my experiences as "armchair quarterbacking"? I've owned, and probably put through harder use than most, multiple FCA, Ford, a few gm, Mazda, and even a Toyota over the years. Of them all, the Fords all had major issues, the gm's a few minor issues, the Jeeps nothing but very minor issues, and the 3 Mazdas and the Toyota were dead reliable. Maybe our million plus driving miles across 5 manufacturers isn't enough "experiencing what's out there" or "trying other things"? I will not buy another Ford period. I am hoping the rental companies pick them up like Wranglers and I can put one through a real offroad test in moab one of these days.

It's a good thing I didn't try to predict my JLU's reliability based on my 83 CJ-7. Otherwise I would have never bought it.

My power wagon tried to kill us hauling a wussy load of firewood. The shocks failed, the doors were misaligned the transmission wouldn't quite shifting. The 6.4 Hemi was a joke. My 2012 F250 with the 6.2 has 190k on it. It plows snow, it hauls wood, it does a lot more than tow on a highway. Truth be known, the 6.0 Ford was one of the worst, the plug eaters were also a well know issue. Doesn't matter what brand, there are some models with issues, you happened to pick the worst, not sure how but, you did. I have had an 89 F250, 99 F350, 99 Expedition, 2010 Raptor and 2012 F250. The 250s and 350 were all worked with snow plows and heavy towing. All went well over 200k miles with no problems. the Expy ran trails in the San Juans and Moab with 33's its only mod, neither it nor the 5.4 Raptor ever had plug issues. When Ford went to the 6.0 I went to Dodge and Chevy. Killed two duamaxes, the four third gen Rams were good trucks, probably what led me to the 2015 PW mistake. I have an F350 7.3 gas on order, really looking forward to it! Just some contrary anecdotal evidence to add to the mix...LOL I wont buy any truck but a Ford.
