Is the old school antenna strictly for AM/FM? I was thinking of removing it when I found there is a good aftermarket for stubby antennas. I just want to make sure it won't impact any other systems.

Looking for recommendations on a stubby one now. Option overload on Amazon, lol.

I got the Rydonair 13 inch. Couldn't really tell you how it works. Don't think I've listened to AM/FM since I got the Jeep.

Yeah, I'm just looking for something in those rare cases where you can tune in to local info or for potential disaster scenarios (like post hurricane).

Going to make my 4xe a little more aerodynamic

It does affect one other system - the stock antenna acts as a height gauge when entering parking garages or passing under low branches.

I've been wondering about these. I bought one - don't remember where, but I lost a lot of local channel quality. Ended up putting the stock one back on.
Are some stubbies better than others?

From Amazon reviews, some seem to be better than others. Most people seem to say the Rydons have great reception.

I also picked up a Rydonair and like it. Not sure about signal degradation, as I switched that out as soon as I got home from the dealer. It's as good as other vehicles I have driven on my commute to work the next county up.

I installed the Rydonair last week and haven't noticed any degradation in signal for my favorite stations.
