Does replacing the antenna with a stubby affect xm?

usually cars have that shark fin antenna for the satellite And I’m curious if the jeep uses that long stock metal antenna for XM as well. Does anyone with a stubby antenna have reduce satellite reception?

No effect. Your XM antenna is on top of the sound bar.

The external antenna is for AM and FM only. The satellite antenna is mounted above your roll bar.

i have a stubby antenna and my XM is fine. I think is located above the soundbar somewhere

Agree with all the above. I've taken the original antennae off. I don't even have one to replace it yet and no effect on XM at all.
