I did a quick search on this and didn't see the specific question anywhere, but does anyone have a recommendation for a 13 or 14 inch antenna that is stiff enough to not slap the jeep at highway speeds but has some give for trees on trails? I have tried the 13 inch Antenna X and it was terrible for slapping the pillar at 70 mph and the 5 inch....while stiff...is terrible with reception. Wasn't sure if there was anything out there that is a good compromise.

So far, this one has not slapped against my poor Jeep like the factory one did. It seems to be the same flexibility/durability of the factory one, just much shorter.

There's a 1-star review for that one where a customer claimed it doesn't work with a JL Rubicon with the high-end Uconnect. I see though that you are in a Rubi. Have you had any issues?

I ask because I have the 8.4" system he's referring to, but I want a shorter, black antenna.

I’ve got a JLUR with the 8.4” System. No issues whatsoever.

Good to know. To be honest, I have no idea how it would cause a catastrophic failure like the reviewer said, but you never know.

I think I'll give it a shot though. That's a good length, and I want a black antenna.

Honestly, I have not listened to FM radio since I bought the Jeep. I mainly have an antenna since it would look weird to have a hole but no antenna. I can't imagine how any antenna could mess up a radio though. For goodness sake, people used to use coat hangers when their antennas snapped.

I have a JLUR with the 8.4" uConnect system. Anyone who bad mouthed this antenna doesn't know how to properly install it (one threaded fitting) . I listen mostly to SiriusXM but there are three local FM stations that I also listen to, clear as a bell.

On a JK I had I put a six inch antenna X on it and the signal was horrible and ultimately I went back to the factory whips antenna. I was reluctant to buy this one thinking the same thing would happen, but nothing could be further from the truth.
