I know this has been asked numerous times, but I'd still like opinions. I have a 2019 JLUR with stock suspension. 35" tires. Don't plan on a lift kit in the future, but would like to upgrade the shocks. I've looked at the Fox 2.5 Reservoir. or Falcon 3.3 Piggyback. Ride isn't as important as off road ride. So my question is, which is the best? Also, on a side question. Upgraded bump stops. Not sure what to order. Thinking the Fox, but how do I know what size?

If you have the money, Fox shocks are the way to go. That’s what I’m saving up for. But it all depends on your needs, spring rates, rig weight etc. Fox is tunable to your specific needs, I’ve never heard of Falcons being tunable. Here’s an awesome article form @AccuTunedJL, should explain everything. AccuTune also tunes shocks to your specific needs, I’m sure they’d answer any questions you may have.

Run Falcon 3.1 on both Jeeps. They are firm on and off road and off road they have taken a serious beating and continue to perform well. The firm but comfortable on road works for my driving style since I sling my Rubi around like a racecar.

Falcon 3.3 shocks are fully tune-able; 3.1 and 2.1 are not.

I like the Falcon's. Well, at least from what I've read. Most people who don't like them say it's because of the ride. That doesn't bother me. I didn't buy a Jeep for a smooth ride. I went to the Pigeon Forge Jeep Invasion, and it seemed a lot of the Jeeps were mixed between the Fox, and Falcons. I was hoping one would be more popular to sway my decision. Is the Fox worth the extra money? Also, any input on bumpstops?

I thought the Fox were cheaper than the Falcon. A set of Falcon 3.3 will run you $1600. 3.1 will be $1200.

Exactly where I’d suggest! We do a lot of work with accutune and they turn out some of the best riding and handing shocks for your Jeep you can get.

best on road would be their tuned 2.0, Offroad 2.5

I’m incredibly confused by the first half of this paragraph. Ride should be incredibly important and to be willing to give that up because you didnt buy a Jeep for the ride baffles me. When properly set up these ride excellent and can be amazing off road when not, they can be like a wagon jarring filings out of your teeth

Youre considering ordering high end shocks. Wouldn’t it make sense to have them actually improve the ride? My opinion is scratch the teraflex shock options and go with tuned fox 2.0 or 2.5. If off road is your priority, the 2.5 would be the best.

The secret to shocks with regard to ride is matching shock compression/rebound to spring rate. The secret to getting the most out of your lift is using the correct shock length that will allow for max compression/rebound(this sounds like it doesn't apply to the OP).

So, a tunable shock is the way to go. I don't think you could go wrong with Falcon, Fox or King.

I will be doing the lift on my new Recon in two weeks and will be installing Falcon 3.3 SP2's and Fox 2.0 Race bumpstops. I ran the Falcon 3.3's on my previous JKU and loved them.
