Hey folks, just a quick introduction for ARS, my name is Mike and I'm the Brand Ambassador for ARS. Most of you might already know this, but MetalCloak purchased KMS (Kargo Master Safari) a few years back and we have re-engineered all of the products that they had for Jeep, plus we brought all the production in-house to our Northern CA facility. We mostly focus on Jeep JK, JL and JT... although our bed racks fit Toyota Tacoma as well.
There are a ton of great rack companies out there, but should you have any questions regarding our products, feel free to reach out here, or by email. We strive to provide top-quality products in a timely manner, so we almost always have racks and systems in stock, ready to go.
I hope you all have a great day and we'll see you on the trail!

-Mike

Interesting product. Watched the animation on the "steel pier plate" , very innovated and looks very strong.

Did you make a front hoop for the Rubicon 392 or 4xe yet ?
Thanks for checking, we are currently in the R&D phase of designing the 392/Mohave hoop. We're hoping to have it available within the next 60 days if all goes well. 4xE presents a larger challenge because we don't want to disrupt any part of the charging port that might void a factory warranty.

thanks! Our pier plate is amazingly strong. A Jeep designer told us directly that we're the only company that is using that area as it was intended. They anticipated that aftermarket companies would want to mount brackets there, so they were excited that we chose to build the pier plate system. Here's one of the photos of our upper light pod mount

. There are others on our website.

any provision (beyond taking apart) for removing hard top and/or putting soft top down and up?

The easiest way, is to just unbolt the front trusses and remove them. If you have aftermarket tailights that don't stick out, you can unbolt the front of the trusses and rotate the rack back like some other companies. We decided to not focus too much on that functionality for this model, but we might on future revisions. thanks for asking

Interested in the 4dr - JLU version (hardtop), curious to see how it mounts in the rear, and the spacing of the rails in order to mount up an RTT. Front points seem much better than the rails with the Exposed Racks version...

The rear hoop mounts to the rear bumper and there are specific brackets that come with whichever bumper you have (Blow Molded, Injection Molded, steel or aftermarket). Those brackets attach to the frame of the vehicle on the underside to beef up capacity on the rear. Our front pier plate design for the front cowl is exceptionally strong and can accommodate over 800lbs because of the way we reinforce that connection. We focus more on strength and minimal movement with our systems so that you don't damage the body due to flexing in technical terrain. The stock brackets for most RTT's usually work fine with our racks, although you can also purchase the loadbars ifyou want to space the RTT up a little bit.

Do you have any photos of how these mount? I'm actually interested in strengthening the OEM steel rear bumper only, and it looks like these might work.

20 years ago, I ended-up building my own rack for my TJ because nobody built a rack that:

1. would allow the soft top to be retracted without unbolting sections

2. Would allow the windshield to be folded

Are you considering these features for JL? Basically, if the side rails are spaced farther apart, the top will retract between them without any need for disassembly. By using the lower windshield hinge mounts instead of the upper hinge mounts, the windshield can be folded.

Fairly simple design changes but more costly, for sure.

I currently have the stock plastic rear bumper, but plan to upgrade it in the future, would the aftermarket bumper bracket still work with the stock plastic one until I get an aftermarket one.

Is the JLU rack available now? If so, is it possible to switch the brackets later for the rear; I did not order the factory steel bumpers but plan to add a RTT before I go to aftermarket bumpers; so could I get this rack for the factory setup now, then just get the different brackets later once switching to a solid off-road bumper?
