I don't have any X-Rack accessories, but I love my front hitch-mount! It's most usefull for bike racks and moving the trailer around with precision.

My last Jeep had one too, and whoever in Africa or the Middle-East is driving that stolen rig now...

It definitely blocks airflow. I would much rather block tailgate.

In my personal experience driving with front hitches and coolers on multiple vehicles, I have never had an overheat situation. May be an issue with older vehicles.

I had a front 2" receiver hitch on a 2018 Silverado pickup that I used to attach a Snow Sport front snowplow. Had it on for four years. During a snow/ice storm, I slid into a curb at approximately 20 mph. When the receiver hit the curb it bent both sides of the front frame. No body damage. Insurance paid to replace with an all new frame. I will never put a front hitch on a vehicle again. It was handy for moving boats and other trailers around but they hang to low.

When we head from PA to OBX, I turn my Rubicon into the Gypsy Jeep. Fully loaded front and rear hitch. This allows our two Goldens and us to drive to the beach with the soft top. Works great! (please note, I put a fiberglass visibility stick on the front to avoid pulling too much forward into things)
