When we head from PA to OBX, I turn my Rubicon into the Gypsy Jeep. Fully loaded front and rear hitch. This allows our two Goldens and us to drive to the beach with the soft top. Works great! (please note, I put a fiberglass visibility stick on the front to avoid pulling too much forward into things)

That was good thinking on the visibility stick. Where did you find that? Lowe's or Home Depot or a local shop like Ace?

I put a 2” receiver on my blue ox tow base plat e for the front. Indispensable for precisely moving my commercial wood chipper.

Where did you find that?
Curt (or DrawTite) - for Wrangler or Gladiator.

Handy for maneuvering long trailers into tight parking spots, you can see where you are putting that trailer when you have almost no room to turn it around.

They don't hang down that low and you can trim the skid plate to fit around the receiver.

Imagine being able to situate a long camper into a tight park space, or driving your boat trailer down the ramp and knowing exactly how far in your are and keeping it perfectly straight the whole time............

And there's still room for a Western snow plow mounting bar below it!

Lets talk about this "trim" the skid plate. Do you have pictures and how much "trimming" are we talking about? Is it absolutely necessary?

What kind of snow plow set up do you have? Just curious, it doesn't snow that often here in North Alabama.

While i liked the curt, it wouldn’t work with both the factory winch and the blue ox base plate.

so I ordered this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MGPZ4LR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and shimmed it out to fit on the base plate front bar. I only used 2 of the 4 1/2” bolts it came with as I’m just putting around my lot. Plenty strong.
sort of mickey mouse, but very useful, plenty strong.

Blue ox themselves was very uninterested in providing or helping with this.

Easier with the plastic skid plate of course:

I had a DrawTite receiver but it didn't play well with the winch plate I originally had, so switched to a Curt receiver. It's still a bit fun to make the Bulldog winch plate work with it, but I got it done.
I cut out the skid plate to go around the Curt - then had to pull the skid plate off after I bought the snow plow because the brackets for the plow mounting bar require removal or trimming of the left and right ends off the skid plate.

This setup is actually on my JT but it's the exact same parts - same frame front, same bumper, same skid plate and so on.

I'd rather plow with my wife's JLU but she'd kick me out of the house and hide the fobs to her Jeep if I even threatened to install all of the wiring and brackets on her baby. "not on MY Jeep" is what I hear.

The plastic air dam on the Sahara (or Overland of the Gladiator with the plastic bumper) is easier to trim.
I used a Dremel with a cutting wheel to do the cutting. It's a little rough, but then few people get down there to critique it.
The slot area has to be a bit wide because of the angle of the skid plat as it's installed.

I was trying to find something like this years ago, thanks! I'm assuming this is the front receiver go-to for everyone.

CURT 31086 2-Inch Front Receiver Hitch
Amazon.com: CURT 31086 2-Inch Front Receiver Hitch, Compatible with Select Jeep Wrangler JL, Gladiator : Automotive

Anyone get this installed along with a Rugged Ridge Arcus front bumper?

I want/need for my 1up mountain bike rack, it's a pain the deal mounting bikes on the rear receiver with a 37" spare. I do have it working now, but there are about 8-10 miles of dirt roads to the trail I ride and by the time I get there my bike is covered in a layer of gravel dust.

A front hitch is the best way to transport extra cargo or coolers as it does not block your tailgate from opening. Let's see what you haul on your front hitch.
I have been hauling rods, coolers, and other fishing gear with my Jeeps for years, but my first project wasn't on the front, it was on the rear of my Cherokee.

I built this setup out of a Harbor Freight rack, some plywood, u-bolts, and sections of plastic plumbing tubing. This rack served me well for years taking equipment to and from my boat at the marina.

It was even pressed into service (briefly) when I traded the Cherokee for a 2013 Wrangler Sahara.

The home-made rack worked with the Cherokee because the lift gate cleared everything. Not so on the Wrangler as it blocked the swing gate.

Enter the front mount receiver hitch.

I bought an "Anglers Rod Racks" rod holder that fit the front receiver hitch, but on my 2013 Wrangler the outboard tubes covered my fog lights, so some trimming was in order.

Now mounted to my 2018 Wrangler, the front hitch mounted rack transports my 10' St Croix surf rods to the beach.
I've been doing this for many years.

The only disadvantage of my setup?
You need to be careful in the neighborhood with street trees.

Those rods are expensive and I can't afford tree strikes.
