Yep, I tend to call out people that make ludicrous absolute statements and those that are convinced that there are massive conspiracies against them. My bad.

Did you seriously need to have someone here explain how turbos work? I missed that thread. I'm guessing you spoke as if you knew what you were talking about.
In as much as I hate the Big Brother monitoring
Jeep Wrangler JL you WILL get the update, plebe! ADC9C7E3-ED77-4EBC-8676-3BFF6E1A347F

seriously? so let me get this straight - anyone buying a vehicle should join a forum, read all the articles, study the schematics and if they don't its all on them if they miss a few obscure parts that no one would answer anyway?

In marketing its called "barrier to entry". if a customer has to do work to buy then they dont buy. I studied this for about 2 months before buying and still ran into this. the devil as they say is in the details and the devil caught me because there was literally no place that would answer this question without being mocked for asking like I am now having found it out
No. Just that at this point, if you think cars don't come with a connection over independent cell and satellite links regardless of what you do, you're not paying any attention at all.

You don't need to join a forum. You don't even need to ask questions. You just have to pay attention to the world around you. It's all over the news. It's in magazines. It has been for a long time. All you have to do is pull your head out of the ground.

realize now you just pissed off people who think the exact opposite here on this forum and actively mock me on that basis.

So on the one hand you ask me how I didn't know this in advance, then tell me I didnt need to join a forum or ask questions but should know by instinct? ok then. Im with you on that. My base question still stands; how do I stop it?

You don't. Modern cars are so tightly coupled with their connections it is impossible to deactivate them.

If you don't like it, stick with older cars that don't have the technology.

I simply do not trust a corporation because of the motive which is anything but the customer after he purchases.
I agree whole heartedly in not trusting corporations by and large, but disagree with your premise here. Customer service is not near as good as it should be in my opinion, but the idea that the corporation is not only indifferent to you post purchase but would also willingly launch some sort of cyber attack on you is ridiculous. Repeat customers are a huge motivator in the vehicle industry. Often there are repeat customer discounts for instance. They are not just going to brick your Jeep for fun or because you posted on a Jeep forum that they weren't nice to you at your last oil change. The internet has made the world a tiny place. 1 time they brick a vehicle will be all it takes to put a manufacturer out of business. The sky isn't falling. Cyberdyne isn't unleashing cyborgs. Your toaster isn't going to jump in the bath tub with you. And nobody is in the business of driving off customers period.

I'm trying to figure out who you think @grimmjeeper pissed off. The majority of us know that those details are being collected remotely. I mean, come on. I get messaged about my tires having low pressure every time I hit the trail.

its not a question of them going after me or any one person. Ive paid my taxes. The question is the fact that they can using a device that you own. ownership means total control.

This is the sort of thing that people passively accept until they see it used against them.

I appreciate this, and I don't mean that sarcastically. You bring up good points.

My philosophy has always been that people should be innocent before proven guilty.

However its the opposite when dealing with business or government - guilty before proven innocent.

Many people would agree with the above sentiment but the difference is living it. I simply do not trust a corporation because of the motive which is anything but the customer after he purchases.

Its not unreasonable then to try to mitigate this as much as you can. You may disagree with the premise but calling me a whiner then suggesting I need a safe space is what I mean about harmful input rather than useless input on a forum.

if asking the question gets ridicule on here then the user is made fun of for asking is that actually help?
Again, i'm baffled by your reading comprehension. I labeled your post as "whining" because you posted about basically the same thing, here once already.

The thread was shut down and, presumably, you received all the answers about how/what to disable, and what is being tracked in your Jeep. Did you really need to start another thread? First one didn't give you enough satisfaction?

Second thing... Nowhere did I say you "need" a safe space, but now I'm beginning to wonder... There's no need to play the role of a victim here when nobody actually forced you to buy the Jeep in the first place.

Actually fate did - my last vehicle fell apart and had no choice but to buy something.

I bought the jeep because of its relative simplicity.

I now have to deal with [redacted] people like you who make it hard for someone like me to get information he needs. The exact opposite of a forums purpose. Why are you resisting against something you dont care about like personal security which is specifically what this is about?
