I'm thinking about upgrading the OEM XR shocks to Fox too, came across the Fox 2.5 performance IFP by JKS. They are designed for 2"-3.5" lift, JKS commented it should fix stock XR no problem. I was a bit concerned if the spring will become loose at full droop since the new shocks have longer extended length. Do you think I'm overthinking?
I've since upgraded the Fox 2.0's I mentioned in this thread last year to the JKS Fox 2.5's, but shortly after added Teraflex 2.5" lift springs so that I can run 37's. I ran the JKS Fox's on my stock XR setup for several moderate trails and had no issues on my JLUXR. The rear stock XR shock extended length is 27.38". I wouldn't think you'd have any issues. They ride great on and off-road!

Great to know, thanks! Did you need to extend/add brackets for front brake line and ensure all electrical connections for enough slack? At full droop either on trail or a lift, I heard some members suggested to check if their is tension on the parking brake cables and the front brake lines. Some also mentioned change the sway bar links.

Nope all good as XR stock- the Teraflex 2.5" springs provided about a 1.5" lift in the front but only 0.5" in the back relative to the stock XR height, so really pretty minimal. I did install Teraflex 0.5" spacers in the rear to avoid a nose high stance. Also installed MetalCloak's 12" offset rear swaybar link extension as at full droop the sway bar was making slight contact with the shock. Had an off-road shop install the springs and they verified everything clears and works great. Confirmed this past September in Moab on Hell's Revenge, Fins, and Steel Bender loop and Flat Pass trails!

Great info, very helpful! I’ll swap out the XR springs and install the Clayton 392 coils, which will give 1/2” to 3/4” lift. That’s it. I don’t plan to add any coil spacers. Will be doing everything myself. That’s the main reason I’m concerned about the Fox 2.5 IFP from JKS may pose some issues at full droop. I do like the beefy size of the 2.5 and the set is more affordable compared to the ones with remote reservoir, which I don’t really need.

So....guys for a XR that wants to stick with stock height, should I get the 0-1.5" version or 2-3" version? Please advise

Good luck getting a definite answer here. You'll get lots of speculation. Lol. I'm interested in replacement shocks for my 2025 JLURX. I don't want any more lift. It's the perfect height for me.

Shock length is pretty important especially since people have been reporting damaged front Rzeppa joints due to the front axle dropping so much the Rzeppa joint and flange get damaged. Sound like this will happen well before the spring drops out of it's perch.

FWIW I had Fox 2.0 shocks that were included in my Dynatrac Endurosport 2.0 lift that I ran on my 2019 JLUR. After only a year three out of the four shocks were leaking. I loved the Dynatrac lift. The Fox shocks, not so much.

Sigh yeah I figured. I think to be safe, I'll just get the 2-3" lift version instead of the 0-1.5..
