2024 Wrangler Rubicon X. Two days ago it wouldn't start, all the lights came on, but all I would get is a "click". This came out of the blue with no warnings. Checked the voltage on both batteries. Way too low. I put them on the smart charger and both came up as "bad battery". So, I installed new batteries for the main and standard. Still won't start. Panel lights all come on, but still just get the click. Check engine light continually flashes on and off, and a red dot about a quarter inch wide at the bottom of the panel came on.

Any advice or guidance is appreciated.

It is under warranty. Let the dealer figure it out at their cost.

Push the unlock button on your key FOB which will turn off the red blinking light and try that. That's the scope of my knowledge and has worked for me in the past.

Gave it a try. Didn't change anything

1) Checked the voltage on both batteries. Way too low.

2) I put them on the smart charger and both came up as "bad battery".

3) So, I installed new batteries for the main and standard.
1) were they disconnected from the Jeep and isolated from each other? Or how did you test them? Load test also?

2) charge/test them connected together or independently?

3) any details on what you installed for main and Aux batteries may be helpful. What voltage are they currently showing on the dash display while engine not running or on a voltage meter?

1) I removed both batteries from the jeep and used a volt meter to check voltage on each battery separately. Main battery was a little over 8 volts and aux battery was a little over 6 volts. I did not do a load test.

2) I connected the original batteries separately to my charger. The main battery took a charge, but the "battery weak" light remained on even when it showed a full charge (but it only showed about 11.6 volts after a rest). The aux battery showed a "low voltage light" and "battery weak" light when I connected it. I didn't try to charge it any further.

3) I replaced the main battery with a Platinum H7 Everstart from Walmart and the aux battery was replaced with a Platinum Super Start from Oreilly's. The new main is at 12.46 volts right now and the new aux is at 12.36 volts.

Your old batteries were obviously long gone, but also the news ones are dangerously low. AGMs should stay over 12.6v at rest. A new AGM battery should be around 13v.

However, they should still start your jeep at the voltage you mentioned.

Can you get it to turn over when jump started?

Have you checked the starter relay in the fuse box? Maybe switch it with the heater/ac blower motor relay and see if it will start.

Agm battery at full charge should read 13.2-13.8.
12.8 should still crank over your engine.

what htfan said.
can you jump battery to if it starts.

sounds as if you have low battery voltage and will not stand up to load test.
new does’nt always mean good.
watch batteries voltage when cranking drops below 12.8 bad battery ( real world load test)

batteries can loose their capacity while still showing a good static charge. When not under load. Batteries surface charge can be missleading

hope that helps.

Check your fuses, it almost sounds like the power control. fuse is blown, which could happen from low voltage and high load like the starter Bendix not driving forward to engage flywheel. Just a thought.

No, I tried jump starting and the result was the same: just a click.

Like others have mentioned, something else is wrong. Blown fuses etc.

Thanks for the info. I'll put the new main on my charger and make sure it has a full charge, but jump starting doesn't work, so I'm not expecting the full charge to help.

I just put an OBDII scanner and got two codes: P0562 and P0562 P. I think the P stands for "pending". P0562 is "system voltage low". Should I erase those codes to see if it comes up again?
