Wrangler in extremely cold condition

Anyone has experience daily drive a Wrangler in extreme cold weather?
In Alberta and Saskatchewan Canada. Winter time can be cold as -30’C (-22F). Will a Wrangler still perform? Oh Canada lol

Wranglers have one of the most, if not the most powerful gale force furnaces blowing out of the dash that's available on the market. They do just fine. You'll get a bit of frosting on the edges of the front window from time to time though because the defroster was designed poorly and doesn't blow all the way to the edge.

One issue is the LED headlights don't put out enough heat to melt snow / ice. Like most things Wrangler, that can be modified.

Montana has some of the extreme cold and while I have a garage my work place did not and I worked 12 hour shifts so it sat out in the cold and dead of night for over 12 hours at at time and never had any issues. This was with JK's but expect the JL would be the same.

I've been at -20 to -15 at night and early mornings. No issues starting or running.

The LED headlights and melting snow issue is one that will come up here and there - but no issues with the cold

My personal record is -17°F (in funny money, -27°C), so it's not too far removed from what you mention. Our most recent cold snap treated us to a crisp 1°F.

But for having to turn the heat up 2-3 additional clicks via the analog fan speed knob, the cold was no factor.

Edit: The soft top is installed year-round.

We are in Manitoba and ours is fine. Had it for 2 years now and never an issue. We have the 2.0. We swap from hard top to soft top, but like was said above, the heater is pretty good and could probably do just as good with the soft top on in the winter.
The LED headlight issue we have ran into a couple times, and I noticed in freezing rain the windshield starts to get ice sticking in the upper corners.

Same here. Being curious about that, I did a bit of digging. At least where the 2.0T is concerned, the water-cooled exhaust manifold likely has much to do with it. That detail, and other technical data, is discussed in this article.

When i first got it i was worried the thermostat wasn't opening due to how fast it warmed up. Took some reading here to figure that out.

Yeah mine as well. It’s definitely a nice thing when she’s -25c out there. Only thing is I wish the wife had gotten heated seats and steering wheel!!

I never thought i would need/like heated seat and steering wheel until it came with my ram 2500.. now i want it in all my cars

I drive a 2018 JL as a daily driver. Live in MN. In the garage overnight but sits out all day. Never had an issue with starting or running correctly. As mentioned above LED lights and defrost efficiency can be an issue.

They did a great work for the engine and warm up. The 0w oil and the oil cooler are helping good. Where it is little les shinny is the hvac control where i feel it restrain the total heat and cold compared to the JK.
