And there is also a difference between offering useful advice and expressing your personal opinion. Opinions are like hemorrhoids, everyone has one sooner or later, and they always stink and irritate. 🤣🤣
The funny thing is is I was apparently told that I'm a hater for people that air down and honestly that's just not true. I don't care if somebody wants to just don't expect me to. And honestly I'm not even against it completely I'm just not going to do it to go off-roading for a couple of hours or whatever.

When I go run the Rubicon trail next year I'll air down but I'm going to be aired down for 3 days not 3 hours and that makes a difference.

Unfortunately nuance is hard to convey on the internet. If you literally don't spell out your entire thought process and argument people jump to conclusions.

Milk trivia - milk and milk products produced west of the Rockies hardly ever makes it east of the Rockies. A large part of the liquid milk produced out west either stays out west or is converted into non-liquid milk products (primarily powdered milk products) and shipped overseas…China, Philippines, etc. Plenty of Milk on both sides of the Rockies to make if viable to ship over the mountains.
the happy cows in california tend to get upset when its time for them to switch to the winter blend of milk. supposedly its better for the environment...

I don't know if onboard air qualifies as "first mod" territory but by all means go ahead. Personally I've never aired down offroad, it's a PITA I just don't care that much about.
If you ever get a chance to try out a 4 way tire inflation system you might change your mind. I made one in my garage in about 2 hours. I use it all the time with my on board Rough Country twin compressor (which is essentially an ARB knockoff).

Good point. People are more likely to air down as the overall process becomes less of a pain in the ass.

that’s similar to the system I use. Sometimes I don’t bother to air down and twice I’ve had to do it mid trail when I hit sand that’s just too deep for me to skinny pedal out of!

Folks, when I was healthy I trapped yotes and cats in a section of 175 square miles in the Sandhills of Nebraska. I would air down my Suburbans tires (Load Range E) to 27lbs. They would stay that way for 3-4 months. Unless I went home for Christmas of it was time to pull traps and was highway driving..

The reason for the load range E was stiffer sidewalls and they could handle low pressure. Reminder max air on a load range E is 80PSI.

27lbs handled sand and snow on 265/70R/17. I seldom got stuck, but when I did it was a doozy. One time I buried it to the frame. Took me 6.5 hours to dig out. I will say this ranchers, whom 3/4 ton Dodges which spend almost their whole life off road, do very well on narrower tire.

Often I would dream of a Hummer where I could change pressure with an onboard system. But I didnt have one. But it would of been nice as I would need to drive 50mph with 27PSI when I traveled hard surfaced roads as the 265/70R/17 would slap the pavement around 56mph.

So yes I agree, airing up and down is a pain in the rear end. However, if your dedicated to run in sand or snow with broad based tires, airing down, at least in my world was the way to go.

Going to be interesting when I go to back the ranch someday, how these load range C tires fair at low pressure. However, I do have an advantage as the Rubicon had lockers and the Suburban did not.
