Boron...and plastic. I guess some people like them but I think their bumpers are hideous. Nothing against the company, just ordered their 2" spacer kit for my new JT mojave. I don't like the idea of the upfit "packages" in general as I think they are overpriced and I like being able to pick and choose parts and end up with exactly what I want vs check boxes from 1 source. For those looking for an off the shelf "built" rig it works.
Exactly!

With my last Rubicon I had big plans on upgrading lots of it. Lots of plans, but it never happened. Now I've got something where everything is designed to work together, and it does. I really doubt if I'd Frankenstein'd it that it'd drive anywhere near as well as it does. You're right, however, that it'd probably be a better rock crawler.

And it wouldn't have a three year / 36k warranty covering everything. That's important to some of us.

There's no magic formula of "designed to work together" suspension let alone bumpers that AEV has figured out. A decent spring rate, a quality shock, flat control arms and viola you have a lifted jeep that rides well. They get too much credit from people who haven't run drop brackets on any other jeep comparing theirs to how some of the big name, expensive kits that replace all the control arms but leave them at a steep angles ride. You know what will make it even better? Fix the steering geometry too. Our Frankenstein metalcloak 3.5" springs and drop brackets, bilstein 5100s, yeti flipped drag link and track bar mount "system" on 39s rides better than my buddies AEV lifted jeep as well as Clayton, rockkrawler, and metalcloak lifted JLs I've driven. Flat control arms and flat steering is a hell of a combination and I'm about $2000 into the suspension. The only bumper issues even possible would be damage from the trail or an accident, not covered under warranty anyway. This is our 18th jeep over the years and our 2nd JLUR, none of which ever needed any warranty work and this one is passed 27k miles already. Glad I didn't spend an extra $10-20k to get my bumper bolts or lug nuts warrantied but to each his own.

I was thinking that those packages (Level 2, etc) were limited edition and only built directly by AEV. I definitely could be wrong. The banner, build plate, etc. are only if it's built directly by AEV and not done by a dealer.

No you get the VIN plate, banner etc when the dealer buys it and has it sent to AEV and its covered all under the 3 / 36 mo warranty that way. I just got mine last week.

Yep, but you can't simply get that through any Jeep dealership. They have to be AEV certified.

Congrats on your new AEV Wrangler! Mine is holding up really well.
