Is there a scenario where that blockage would be an issue? You can still clearly see the road, which I would think is the primary concern.Pics for reference.![]()
First dashcam for me so not really sure. Only thing I see in my limited use is that it misses certain traffic lights. I guess it depends on angle of approach to the light / intersection. I was more worried about someone jumping on my hood and claiming I hit them (con artist) Probably overthinking all of it. Totally happy with it though. Especially the rear image. Is there a scenario where that blockage would be an issue? You can still clearly see the road, which I would think is the primary concern.
Yeah, I guess it could obscure a traffic light that would otherwise be evidence. Good point.First dashcam for me so not really sure. With most of them you wouldn't know it's a camera unless you're explicitly looking for it. In your situation they'd still see the camera installed on the back of it and treat it the same as one that was fully functional.I wish they would make a dashcam that was literally just an OEM rear view mirror, with a discrete camera installed in the back side.
I don't need some fancy LED screen, I just need the assurance of knowing my road activities are being recorded.
And I like to go roof and doors off most of the summer, so I don't need something that is obvious to thieves.

You'd have to be explicitly looking for mine too. Unless it's on, of course. I haven't had a single passenger realize that it was anything special until I turned on the Jeep. Most of them are intended to look completely stock when off. They'd have to be explicitly looking for it though.
What I am saying is, imagine a dashcam where from from the driver's seat you can't even tell it's a dashcam.
Agree to disagree. You'd have to be explicitly looking for mine too. Unless it's on, of course. I haven't had a single passenger realize that it was anything special until I turned on the Jeep. Most of them are intended to look completely stock when off.
I seriously doubt that there's a significant market for what you're describing.
