I'm not sure who would buy something that required the same amount of work to install as a full-featured product while having no real advantages other than potentially being cheaper. But whatever.

It would certainly be cheaper.

The work part is irrelevant. I've installed dozens of dashcams, it's not that difficult.

But the benefit would be stealth, lower theft risk, less showy, etc.

Like I said, I don't need a fancy LED screen, I just need a dashcam that records the road for emergency purposes.
