Interesting. If you think about it next time you're out at night try applying the brake and looking at the mirror. I know I could see quite a bit of red glow on my factory backup camera if I force the camera on and apply the brakes at night.

I've probably got a couple of weeks before my install since the Jeep is in the shop but I'd like to be ready with a game plan when I get it back.

Thanks for all kinds of solutions. If we install it on the spare tire or third brake light, when we open the door would it drag the cable?

I'm considering at it at the roof (similar to defender solution) but I don't know if this is a stupid idea or not.

You would essentially run it while open so it will have enough slack when you open and close.

I run mine along the top,and then have my camera inside the rear window, at the top.

Appreciate it. Would it be too tinted if you install it inside the rear window? Also the spare tire might block some of the view.

The tinting does darken it a bit but the new rear camera on the tripro is super nice. Nicer than the G900 or the G900 Pro before that (I have had all of these). I also put the camera right up next to the glass. This is way at. the top, so the spare tire doesnt' go that high.

Cleared all my concerns thanks a lot!

I ran the rear camera cable down the A-Pillar passenger side and under the door sills (super easy) then pulled the carpet back on the rear tire; slid the cable between the hard top and body. Then dropped it down and zip tied it on that OEM cable run to the tailgate. Removed that panel on the tailgate and passed it through the vent. Cable is long enough with about a foot to spare. This is by far the easiest way to route the cable. The camera is mounted on one of those mounts from Amazon that has the lug holes in it.

Love this solution any chance you can share the amazon link?

The nearest I can find is the license plate re-locator.

This is the one I used. I had to enlarge the center hole for this to work. I did not use the camera that came with this kit.

If I did it over I would probably use this one.

Thanks!

I just bought the G900 Pro. Still figuring out the fuse box part. Appreciate everyone's help!
If you have the OEM Aux switches, all the wires you need are on the passenger side floor board.
I used an extra voltage cutoff so I could raise the power cutoff. I never wanted the G900 killing my battery because it did not cutoff soon enough.

There is an instruction said that both yellow and red wire suppose to be connected to the ACC to avoid consistent battery consumption.

Still figuring out how to make it work. It looks like both of yellow and red have to insert into the F52 Cigarette fuse. I might need to parallel them.

If both wires are connected to the ACC the G900 will not have parking mode. If that is not something you need then I would wire it this way.
