Wiper lever/actuator replacement

My wiper lever has broken and I will need to replace it. Has anyone replaced the lever actuator on the JL models? It appears the steering wheel may need to be removed to get the trim ring off to access the lever electronics. I'd like to attempt it myself if possible.

How did you break it? It might get covered under warranty so you can save a couple of hundred bucks?

Mine broke @ around 500 miles. Dealer fixed it. Why would you not have the dealer fix yours under warranty?

I'll try the dealer. It's completely ripped off the column. My kid hung a backup strap on it yanking it through the driver door. I was surprised how easily it ripped off.
