I wanted to connect my Zeon XD10s to my Aux switch. I watched a bunch of install videos but nothing addressing the 392 engine bay with very little room to install the Warn Interrupt kit (#62132). I tried to find a spot to use factory screws as I did not want to drill and did not want to run extra wires. Best place I could find and so I used a piece of 6061 alum plate, drilled 4 holes and grabbed a spare M6 screw. Having a machine shop helps. Should have run the plate on my CNC machine to really dial it in but the drill press worked to get it going. I will draw something up in CAD and machine it later so it looks better and may be set it up in a better spot with a small offset from where it currently is. Zero interference with the hood when closed. Works great with the 15amp switch on 3 or 4.

If anyone is interested and would like an Aluminum plate to mount in the same spot hit me up. Ill machine some after drawing it up.

None... but it pays well.
Your solenoid looks small and may have fused contacts when amperage kicks in on loads. I did a thread on my winch install. Project Overkill. It's almost completed delayed by weather and holidays. Prolly finish late January mid February.

I used a winch on/off switch.

Very easy, very inexpensive, it has worked flawlessly.

Happy Thanksgiving. I used that same manual switch on my JK without issue. Recently bought JL and have been debating staying with the manual or getting a solenoid and using one of my factory aux switches. I haven't searched solenoids yet but if anyone has a tested recommendation I would greatly appreciate the info.

There is a factory grounding post on the inner fender below your mounting bracket. For a cleaner install you might consider attaching any solenoid ground wires there.

That’s a Warn product that many have used for years without issue. Myself included.

There are three main camps on this. A Warn power interrupt (or similar) using the factory aux switch If available. A manual cut off switch. Wiring the. winch directly to the battery as has been done for years and years without issue. Lots of passionate debates on this forum over which is best.

You should make up some brackets and sell them. I could have used one. I just installed the Warn kit and cut up a piece of angle iron I had laying around.

I emailed Warn and advised them of my winch and this was the one they told me to buy. Hopefully i do not have any issues.

Yours looks pretty good. I'm debating that and may end up getting a little kit together with the 6mm screw and a few other pieces, Try to keep it cheap but look good. Problem is I'm having a hard time keeping up on my current parts.

I was pretty hung up on how to get them there and decided to come along the frame and then up.

I really liked having it directly to the battery but hated hearing the winch noise constantly. Not that I can hear it inside with the 392 but I knew it was constantly on and hear the noise when outside the jeep.

I used the same warn solenoid for years and wired it to my aux button. I like that a lot more than a manual switch under the hood.

If you forget to activate it before wheeling and are in a precarious position, you need that winch line to he pulled and used quickly. I don’t want someone to have to climb up on an obstacle and open my hood on hells gate for example if you did something stupid.

I used a simple piece of channel from Home Depot and put it in the same spot. But I like your bracket. Clean.

From my winch I went to the frame rail to the shock tower then up. Not the cleanest but the route with the least bends and rub points. The 392 is insanely tight in the engine bay.

I am sure there are lots of reasons everyone did their setup they way they did it. I am not a fan of a large unfused circuit waiting to get shorted in an accident. For the type of offroading i do here in michigan, I will risk a solenoid or switch not engaging over a short. I will check on the warn kit linked in 1st post.
