Hello All,

Im sure I can find this somewhere, but you all know best.

Will 265 70 17 fit on a bone stock 2026 Sport with the Sport S wheels? Without modifications.

Thank you.

Why bigger?
Because it's pretty much a stock size - 31.6 inches. When OP asked if they will fit, I assume he thinks they will have a bigger appearance, which they really won't.

It maybe be he wants close to stock. I just went from 285 70 17 to 245 75 18 and picked up 2mpg maybe more.

Correct. I don’t want to sacrifice to much mpg and on road comfort.

Not entirely true....I went from 245 75 17 OEM Michelin's to 265 70 17 BFG K03's and the near 1" tire width addition is noticeable in handling (great) and look - and along with the more aggressive look of the K03's (and the RWL), the overall appearance of my 2-door JL is more aggressive. As earlier poster pointed out, not everyone wants a rock crawler or the appearance of one...I'm on the beach every week with my "beach buggy", and my setup rocks for that - and it looks good, too! šŸ˜Ž Never wanted a lift, giant tires, or worse MPG.

Towing or acceleration may be other reasons to keep the diameter near stock.

Going from P-metric street tread 245s to LT AT 265s made for a noticeably wider tread, partly from the size change but also partly from the AT tread. The result is a bit less MPG, better handling and emergency maneuvering, stronger carcass for offroad, similar acceleration and towing ability, more aggressive appearance.

I'd agree with the tires affecting towing ability IF they were the limiting factor. The fact that the diesel JT is rated lower than the 3.6L and the fact they didn't put the 2.0t in the JT tells us what we already know, cooling is the limiting factor in the JL/JT platform. Further is the Dam test in 90⁰+ weather that's required for certification that puts those limits as low as they are. That's why every JLU in Europe and Australia is rated to tow 5k. They're perfectly safe and perfectly happy towing even on oversized tires. Just keep an eye on temps. I intentionally avoid pulling large grades at midday in the summer when towing heavy and haven't had a single issue on 37" MTs on the JT. Not even pulling an 8200lb trailer 600 miles including a pass that gains 4k feet in 20 miles. The 6k pound water buffalo isn't the slightest issue. And every heavy trailer has been drug out to our off grid property that includes 20 miles of washboard dirt roads. Not saying anyone rise needs large tires, but if you do for the wheeling you want to do, you can still tow just fine. As they say, pics or it didn't happen.

Yep some of us just love to drive a jeep and aren't looking to create a crawler or the look of a crawler!
Why not, Kelly???

I’m kidding, of course.šŸ™‚ By the way, I love it out there in Terra Ceia!!! My wife and I are kind-of long distance neighbors to you (Old Miakka, Sarasota County).

Personally I think weight, thread and compound are the biggest influencer of MPG than size.
I own 2 set of 275/70, one is 35 lbs lighter per wheel than the other and it require more work to keep the MPG than the lighter set.

I would like to get 20mpg. Right now I’m getting 23-25. šŸ¤žšŸ¼
