I currently have the base 5" screen in my Wrangler. It has the issue with plugging into the USB ports and resetting every couple minutes. As a result, I never use the ports. Would upgrading to a 7" Uconnect solve this issue? Or does the problem lie somewhere else in the system?

Well, since there was no feedback, I pulled the trigger on the 7" Uconnect. I'm happy to report that everything works now. All USB ports charge and transmit data as they should. The system does not reset while connected to my iPhone. The addition of Apple CarPlay and the color screen were a nice bonus.

Missed your post originally, but I was going to say I think it'll work. Glad you confirmed it. My wife's '18 with the 7" radio does not have this issue, and we use Carplay all the time with the cable. My '18 with the 5" radio does the pop/reset whenever a cable is connected, and sometimes even without. My workaround is to stream audio via Bluetooth and a separate USB outlet that is not connected to the infotainment system for charging.
