The main reason for me was that the color and engine are not available yet at dealers (Punk'N Metallic and 2.0T). That being said, with the price of that thing, I wanted to make sure I just get the options I really want, rather than miss one or pay for an additional one I don't need.

I am doing a factory order because I want the stripped down model. The dealers make money on all the bells and whistles that I don't want.

Aye. And a truly stripped down model will never be just sitting on a money-hungry Jeep dealer's floor. I'm practically willing to bet no dealer stocks a 2 door Sport 6MT just for the hell of it.

I emailed a dealer back and forth a couple times, and they said they're happy to do orders, and asked me what options I was looking for. I told them "A 2 door manual with A/C" and they stopped responding to me.

I guess I'm not worth it as a lowly base model customer.

I am obsessed with the posts of people getting their factory orders.

But i have to admit many of the builds seem to be similar to Jeeps readily available on dealer lots.

I think i am going to have to factory order to get my options (sting gray, premium soft top, manual sport s). But i would much rather just pick one out on a lot.

For those who are doing a factory order, why are you going that route?

I just placed my order for Sting-gray Rubicon with premium soft top, infotainment, LED and cold weather. Can't find a Rubicon with a soft top anywhere in the Denver area none the less sting-gray (which we all know and it has been well documented does not yet exist on a lot)

My problem is that I have emailed several dealers about ordering the loaded jlur I want, and all but one has completely blown me off. It's like they don't want money.

Although some will deal via e-mail most would rather you come in and talk to them face to face. I am not saying you have to do this but most are not going to wheel and deal via e-mail.

Yeah, I'm finding that out. The one who did respond took the build sheet I sent and gave me a quote right away (which was the flat invoice price). He will probably get my business just for being professional.

I've been looking for two months for a JL completely loaded and so far the only one I've found anywhere in Jeep's inventory is the one I ordered. I wanted EVERY option including painted top, fenders and dual tops. There appear to be none anywhere except mine.
Did same thing ordered March 15 expecting June 1st

Rubicon 2.0L aren’t going to be available that much sooner - and body color hardtop w/ dual tops are super rare in California
You can order I would order v6 not the turbo

I was kind of forced to factory order. The color I wanted wasn't available, and the only available JLU in the color I wanted was about 14 hours outside my city but It didn't have a lot of the features I wanted. So no choice for me, now I'm stuck waiting in D1 since Mar. 19
