Calm down guys, you'll get your Jeeps

Iām sorry but I donāt agree with some of your statements. It doesnāt take more than a matter of minutes to update your dealerships, reps and JeepCares as to your production intentions. FCA has communication departments to do this. As I stated in my post; they made sure all their marketing avenues were thoroughly addressed; TV commercials and numourous magazines.Could the FCA be more communicative? Sure. But theyāre probably too busy trying to catch up on an unpredicted demand. If they had delayed the launch people still wouldāve been pissed...if I were them Iād be temporarily charging more for options that they were running out of i.e. Dual Tops & Premium Soft Tops.
It is was it is, and Iām sure the workers are pissed that weāre pissed because theyāre already working their butts off trying to maintain the highest quality standard theyāre capable of. Life happens, weāre humans, and weāre all far from perfect.
Also thereās a reason why you havenāt really seen any car manufacturers successfully start up in the past few decades. Itās an insanely hard accomplishment that even Elio https://www.eliomotors.com/about-elio/ hasnāt even officially launched production. They initially had the launch date set for like 2015 or even earlier.
You have a point and I get it. But Elon musk has a news release every so often to keep customers informed. At FCA, the workers are probably burned out, the customers are pissed, suppliers are squeezed, and management is probably getting bonuses because profit margin is high and demand is through the roof.Could the FCA be more communicative? Very nice equation. Thanks for sharing. Not only I learned one more new word, I can actually use it.verbal diarrhea = logorrhea
I remember that post..I agreed with you. No point in bitching about things you canāt control, right?

The old car guy saying goes... if you want to invest millions of dollars into a dealership and want to give yourself āxā amount for your trade, please do. Until then, itās worthāxā. ( yes less than you think). What Iām saying is...a multi billion dollar company is looking so far ahead of every person here or on every forum out there that they donāt give 2 shits. There has NEVER EVER been a new car that has hit my lot that didnāt end up selling in one way or another. Let alone a Wrangler. Even the ones I had my doubts on. I praise them for giving us this product. Even thought the dealer may have to all the vehicle for a loss to gain volume, FCA makes a shit ton so they can improve the next one. Some of you kno I donāt have faith I. The mothership but come on. You sound like a bunch of fucking entitled melenials. Yep I said it. With that, Iām out of this discussion. You have a point and I get it. But Elon musk has a news release every so often to keep customers informed. As I said before, I will buy a Jeep even if I am mistreated. But I refuse to call it an acceptable customer service. I am buying it becuase I like the product inspite of FCAās customer management blunders.
If you do a little research on Tesla youāll discover the Model 3 roll-out is a full on disaster, the result is Tesla is seeing itās biggest losses ever and Elonās response is to add fuel to the fire by promising still more new and different products, not to mention sending an older version of the sports car into space (admittedly very very cool). But if anyone on this forum had a model 3 on order Iām sure weād be pissed as they have delays far exceeding a few weeks or even a few months. I understand we both, live in a world of instant gratification and that social media gives us unlimited opportunity to play the victim and vent our respective spleens; but please remember most people on this forum are in roughly the same boat/situation so hearing others complain is in no way satisfying. No one here is being singled out, so, as my mother used to say, āif you canāt say something nice, donāt say anything at allā. Just one old manās opinion, whoās also been quietly waiting for his new JL and 1st Wrangler. You have a point and I get it. But Elon musk has a news release every so often to keep customers informed. Here is the deal, no matter what they say you will still be pissed because there is only one answer you want, which is your new jeep is on the way.Iām sorry but I donāt agree with some of your statements. Yes, now Iām whining, but Iām beyond pissed off; thereās no excuse for FCA to be crapping on us as they most definitely are.
Iām sorry to say thatās not the way my job responsibilities are set. Iām a degreed Mechanical Engineer working for a fairly high level aerospace company. When Iām given a job I have a deadline I have to work to. If I donāt meet that deadline my job is most definitely on the line. Here is the deal, no matter what they say you will still be pissed because there is only one answer you want, which is your new jeep is on the way.
I have been the R&D lead engineer on several high demand new products, sometimes demand spikes more than we thought, plus some part has some issue, and just when we get a handle on getting more something else happens like you get a bad reel of chips making the last run of some board fail... ok now that time you gave due to the one problem is usurped by the new problem. Then everyone is mad because you were honest and gave a time you thought was real, and it was.. till something else happened that should not have.
Bottom line, giving dates is dangerous, why? because modern engineering is complicated and no one company controls its supply line fully esp on new products. All they can do is to try to catch up to demand, give a date thats not too far out so everyone is mad, or too early so they are mad you "lied". magic or death
And there it is right there in a nut shell. I appreciate all of the views but clearly for some they are set in their thought process. No response is going to change the way they want to think about this subject.Misery is an option.
