I traded a BMW 128i for a JL Sport. I also read all these posts and was very concerned. I saw an unnerving amount of YouTube videos. I really looked into my wrangler before accepting the delivery. I was particularly worried about the steering issues because I experienced it on the wrangler that I test drove. My jeep has none of the issues that I have seen discussed on this forum. Even the welding is beautiful. I have been driving the wrangler for about a month. This car is awesome. I studied the warranty. Basically, it has 2 years for anything to come up. It will get fixed if it does.
Where did you buy it in Houston ? Some posters got theirs at River Oaks . You chose the best model , the Sport .

Lots of responses, but I’ll add my take:

I bought one of the very first ones in January. Very minimal history to sway my vote. 10k miles on it now. Pretty much every option on it.

Do I have any issues? No. In fact, the is the first Wrangler that hasn’t had any. Not that I had a ton in comparison, but my first (2014 sport) had transmission shifting issues that required computer updating. The next (2016 Sahara) had a seat that constantly creaked and slipped when you sat in it too fast.

Do I have a perfect vehicle? No- but I can’t say anything mass produced ever is. I had to tighten fuses, adjust some items, clean out a few things. But nothing that required tools or effort. Just my ADD kicking in.

Do as you want, as mentioned, but don’t let the hypothetical trump the reality. Check out the welds, play with the buttons, get accustomed to its noises and then decide if it is for you.

Well not like that. But if you had the doors off and just kinda swing in- the seat would pop back one section.
That's it . Hold onto the roll bar with both hands , and swing upwards , let go , do a back flip , and land on the seat .

As usual, you are going to hear all the negative experiences, but not all the positive. I have had mine four months and have had no issues. JLUR with dual tops. Took 4 months to get but I have had nothing but great things to say about it. Swapped out the top for summer and have enjoyed it every time I get in it. No steering issues, in fact it drives as good as any vehicle I have owned. Everything that I had issues with in the JK, they addressed. is it perfect? of course not, but I have no complaints! Good luck on your decision.
