Which trim has steel knucles?

My 2 door Willys has aluminum, Dana 44s but aluminum knucles

Mojaves and 392s and they are cast iron not steel

No, at least not the 2023 model year. The cast iron knuckles were one of the upgrade items included in the XR trim package. Don't know about the X trim package they are now selling.

My rubican has steel knuckles, but i did order it with 4.88 gears.

My '22 JLURD has aluminum. I climbed underneath with a magnet a few weeks ago to verify that sad detail.

392 and Diesel, for sure. I'm 99% sure that X and XR have steel, too. I know our 2024 X has them.

My 2021 Diesel has aluminum knuckles. You would have thought the diesel Rubicon should come with the iron ones.

In case it ever comes in handy for you in the future, iron knuckle part numbers are 68477359AA and 68477358AA for left and right side, respectively.

These are same as the Mojave (perhaps XR, 392 and Diesel as well). I can confirm these fit a 2021 JL Dana 44 because I purchased and upgraded at same time I did a regear.

Yes all XR models have the HD front diff housing with the steel knuckles the same as the Mojave.
