Didn't see a specific thread dedicated to simply a poll of which top options our forum members got from the factory! I did a similar poll to this regarding colors and thought it would be cool just to see a breakdown of which tops we all have! I'm sure many have aftermarket tops etc but this is simply for the top that came with your Jeep! I know there are two different soft top options but to make it simple I just put one option for soft top.

i got the hard top for a couple of reasons. one is it came with the jl. 2 is that i'm not in an area to run a soft top. i know i know that running a soft top gives you an opportunity to run it with it down. if i was living by the beach that would be one thing, but where i'm at. its not all that great. 3rd this is my daily driver so security in locking everything up, even tho i'm in a good area, 4 would be having another item to store. which i'm in the process in down sizing and a move in the future. beside that i thought about it. maybe later on down the road i would pick one up.

I got the soft top because I figured I'd be too lazy to take the hard top off. I was a little concerned with the combination of a soft top and the New England winter, and while I didn't have the jeep for the whole winter, it made it through with no issue.

Haha - I'm admittedly pretty lazy and I've switched between hard and soft top at least 4 times in the last 3 months depending on weather and my mood. It's easy, just takes a little bit of time.

bought hard top, should have bought dual top, ended up purchasing a used but never opened soft top as well. so now soft = summer, and hard = winter in chicagoland

Exactly the same for me in Chicagoland. Soft top allows me to go topless without worrying about the weather — Safari mode keeps me pretty dry in the event of rain :)
