2018 JL Wrangler Sahara with a 3" lift, adjustable front lowers, adjustable front track bar (rear tb reloc. bracket), 35" tires

I've got about 110k miles on my jeep, and it's time to replace the draglink so I'm gonna do the tie rod as well. Looking at upgrading with a Metalcloak kit. When is it necessary to opt for a hi-steer drag link?

It is possible that if I ever have to replace my springs, I may go with 3.5-4 inch springs. I just put some Bilstein shocks on that are for 3-4.5" lift. But I dont really plan on replacing springs unless I have too, and mine only have 25k-30k on them. I'd say the rear trackbar is on the list before springs, since it is still stock with just a reloc. bracket. That and possibly rear control arms at some point. But for now, my question is just for the hi-steer option. Replacing tie rod and drag link is a necessity right now. Thanks!

We don't normally run a hi-steer until 4.5" or taller. There is little to no gain in drivability with a loss of available up travel. The HD steering system will work great for you without the drag link flip.

only reason for a high steer is if you have bumpsteer. my AEV 2.5 is about 3" and I have 0 bumpsteer. on my last couple of JK's with 3.5 I went with highsteers because I was getting bumpsteer. did the Steersmarts kit

3" is when I installed Currie's Rock Jock high steer kit . Its for 2.5" lift minimum . I love it . Once I lift I do everything I can to try to get it to drive as good as it did stock or better . Geometry brackets made it drive better on the road so I figured why not flatten all of the steering out to match what geo brackets did for control arms . Just seem logical to me so I was in a position to do it and have no regrets . Ya never know how good really is until ya try to make improvements and then ya may find out how good ,good can be I am at 4" lift now
