Found a set of take off Rubicon Unlimited 392 Final Edition Wheels 17x8, 127mm (5x5), +12mm(5.5) Off Set fairly local to me. Might consider swapping my OEM Willy’s wheels out for them and am not sure if they would fit right. Was considering Method 703’s but this seems to be a good deal.
Anyone do this kind of swap or have any opinions on whether to go to Method or stay OEM.

I know the 392’s are 8” wide vs 8.5 for the Method, and of course bead grip tech, but for the price delta, I’m considering the 392 wheels.

What say you all?

What is the price? You don’t have that info in your post.

Personally, if id spend money on wheels, it would have to be an improvement over OEM wheels in terms of strength, weight and tech. I think the method Beadgrips are actually quite reasonably priced for what they are. I believe some color options are discounted to ~270$ per wheel. Then again, it depends on what you are planning on doing with the Jeep. If you don’t need to air down below 15 psi, the Beadgrip tech doesn’t really do much for you that the OEM wheel can’t.

Asking is $850 for all 5. Thought it was a good deal.
Wasn’t considering OEM take offs at all, but I do like a good deal. Just don’t want buyers remorse 6 months down the road.

I drive on the beach most of the time. So airing down is par for the course. No rock crawling or hard terrain.

hard to beat OEM quality. 8" wide wheels are great for 35x12.5 or 37x12.5 tires . you can air down an OEM wheel to under 15psi no problem. If I could find such a deal I would consider it for my second set of the tires.

Just remember that the stock offsets can limit lift and steering upgrade choices.

The largest tire I would go is either 35x12.5 or 315 x 70. See any issues with the OEM choice? I already have Rubicon high rise fenders installed.

Those wheels came stock with a 315 so youll be fine. I ran a 315 on my stock Rubicon wheels for a while till I got the method 703s because I wanted the wider offset to keep the fenders out of rocks and to be able to run the upgraded steering I was planning.

My only concern is the narrower axles that come with the 23 Willys.

well the wheels are going to be 30mm further out already with the 392 wheels which will help a ton, an extra 12mm likely isn't going to make that big of a difference with only a 315

Deal or no deal, 703’s really are nice, as seen above. That just swayed my decision.
Nice JL TN.

IIRC the XR 392 wheels are 17x8.5?

I'd go with Method 703 beadgrips 17x8.5 in the desired offset, stronger, lighter weight and beadgrip.
