However, I would add "Upstate NY" is a completely different world from the city. Most of the people from there are opposite of what you would expect a traditional New Yorker would be. They are country folk.

So, I would agree with another comment already shared. There's some unhealed trauma.
Very true.. near the city is a totally different world than the rest of the state. California is like that too.

The funny thing is, Mike's from NY, too. I was kinda hoping for a Real Housewives style match between them if the OP didn't bail.
Folks like the OP who behave that way and say they are going to bail, usually don’t. They can’t help but hang around to see what reactions they get.

Yes, you totally nailed it. I'm currently dealing with the California situation. However, we have an escape plan. :like:

It appears that Karen should start her own forum that only allows replies that meet her approval.

Well, Mike is on Long Island (as am I — great mall crawling here!), so that probably makes him a “traditional” New Yorker. We aren’t all so bad …

I'm from New York (transplanted to Florida). Lived in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn and Bayside, Queens, and grew-up out on the island (Suffolk County, Long Island). Upstate New York is cow country, not the city in any way. It is very nice up there though - mountains and country - super scenic in autumn - a good break from the city.

I’m not new to the community. This is my 5th wrangler, and 25 years. Clearly I am being “schooled,” which I don’t need to be. So I guess I’m in the wrong forum again. With people who dont want to help but offer condescending comments. I understand the wheel size and tire size. However, with the JLs some came stock with 20s and 35s, on some so I was looking for actual people who kept same set up and actual experience with that in “ real” life. Not theory or opinion. I don’t care about looks, I care about ride. If I cared about looks I wouldn’t be driving a Jeep, I’d drive a much “ nicer” vehicle for 60k. Thanks for your support. I’ll unsubscribe now.
I believe you misunderstood the tone of the response, @Headbarcode offered a very concise response with no judgement; just facts related to your question.

20” wheels are almost always going to sacrifice ride quality in favor of looks.

Welcome again to the forum, we are likeminded friends. No need to be on the defense around here

p.s. we love pics of old rigs if you have any ?

Rob, where in FL are you? We are in east Sarasota County (Old Miakka).

In my opinion, Long Island is a hybrid blend of city/country. At least, the places I've stayed when working for a company with offices there. I really like it.

I absolutely love Upstate/Western NY! It's beautiful! My in-laws live there so we visit often. However, I must say I'm not a fan of winter there ;)

I love California for it's outdoors and weather and there are some great places to eat. After that, it starts losing its entertainment value. If I were single, I would have moved after retiring. But, my wife wants to stay. So a compromise. I get to go jeeping and hunting all over the country.
