What triggers Heated Mirror?

Anybody know what triggers them?

Outside temp, defrost setting, small leprechaun under the hood?

Outside temp, defrost setting, small leprechaun under the hood?

They go on automatically, when the outside temperature sensor reads 40°f and below. Same as the heated seats, steering wheel, and hvac blower. There's a setting in the uconnect system that allows one to choose for this to happen on just remote starts, all starts, or off.

Heated Mirrors — If Equipped
These mirrors are heated to melt frost or ice. This
feature will be activated whenever you turn on the
rear window defroster (if equipped). Refer to “Climate
Controls” in “Getting To Know Your Vehicle” for further
information.

I have a soft top, so no rear defrost. there's a button for our heated mirrors.

They're on all except the base Sport.
