I just got my 1st Jeep a few months ago. It’s a 2022. I had test driven a couple of ’21s and remember the heated steering wheel getting much warmer than my ‘22 does. I am very disappointed.
Did Jeep make an adjustment in ‘22? Is there a way to turn up the heat?
Thank you.

There is no adjustment and no way to turn it up. The heated steering wheel is either on or off.
I figured that to be the case, but with all of the talk of steering wheels getting too hot, I’m extremely disappointed in my lukewarm wheel.

Yep, my 2018 would get so hot I would have to turn it off sometimes lol. But I loved it being that hot when I first got in during the cold winter months. My 2024 gets lukewarm!

My 21 wheel gets quite toasty too. Maybe they made a change in the heating element in the wheel itself? You could try swapping in an older heated steering wheel and see if that works.

Similar issue for me... our 2023 Mojave and our 2023 Gladiator Rubicon steering wheels got "uncomfortable hot". And like fast.

My 2025 JLUR gets tepid at best.

I wish there was an adjustment.... Not boiling lava hot, and not room temperature beans warm.

That’s not a bad idea. However, with a jeep with less than 15,000 miles on it, I’d rather not have to mess with it.

Some doorknob probably sued…
This.

Reminds me of the old Audis heated seats that if left on, would actually burn a hole in the seat.

My last Jeep, '21 Sahara 6sp, had the fairly common issue of the heated steering wheel stop working, something to do with the electrical soldering or similar. It probably has something to do with avoiding that. I never had it fixed, traded in on my '25 Willys because of the whole clutch sh?tshow, but agree the '25 isn't as hot for sure...

Can't remember the model year, but I had a JL loaner back in 2019 that had a scorching steering wheel. Only took about 3 minutes of driving before it was literally too searing to keep touching without gloves. My '23 is the exact opposite and gets lukewarm at best. Could drive with it on in the middle of summer and not even notice.

Never understood why they couldn't add a multi-level button for the steering wheel like they do the seats. "Then Goldilocks said, this steering wheel is just right.." 😂

This happened to me at 37,000 miles, 1,000 miles after the bumper to bumper warranty. I did the trouble shooting and attempted to fix it myself but realized the wheel needed to be replaced entirely. The service manager is a friend of mine and she took care of me and used the warranty claim to replace the wheel. The plug was shorted out and melted.
