JLU - Heated Steering Wheel

When I turn on my heated steering wheel in my Sahara 2024, it comes on and its gets lukewarm, then after about 15-20 min the light is still on but the steering wheel cools off a lot. The dealer said this is normal, but thats not how I remember my JLU 2018 working and the seats stay warm till you shut them off. Does any one know if my heated steering wheel is working properly as the Jeep dealer states.

I am skeptical.

That's how the wheels in both my '22 JLU and '18 Grand Cherokee work. I note that they do get warmer initially and stay warmer longer as the ambient temperature goes down. I've also found that toggling the switch after 10 minutes or so will have the wheel start hot again.

My '18 wheel gets so hot I can't touch it if I leave it on for a long time. I've read here that Jeep changed things for MY19 so it wouldn't get so dang hot.

I have 2018 JLU and both get hot quickly and stay that way. The steering wheel gets almost too hot.

My 23 gets pretty warm. Have herd others complaining out this

My '21 JLU Sport S Altitude steering wheel stays hot all the time it's on.

I have 2018 JLU and both get hot quickly and stay that way. The steering wheel gets almost too hot.

My '23 Ruby is not that bad, but my wife's '19 Durango R/T gets hot quick and I mean really hot, and stays hot also. I turn it off pretty quickly.

My 2019 JLUR heated steering wheel takes about a minute or two to get hot, but it stays hot the entire time the switch is on. I've not known it to cool down at all as long as its on.

My 2024 gets pretty warm quickly, then cools off like you explained over time, while the light continues to illuminate on the button/screen.

I do not have any history with a different year Jeep, but I do have history with a 2013 Infiniti SUV and that thing gets too damn hot and stays hot until you turn it off.

If I had my wish, I would put it somewhere in the middle of the two. Start off and get nice and warm for the first 5 - 10 mins, then cool off a little, but not as much as my 2024 does right now.

The Goldilocks zone.

21 rubi gets hot pretty quick and stays hot until I turn it off. Sounds like they might have modified that in your year.
