Crash mitigation. Prevents the passenger front tire from impacting/crushing that area in an accident. Added to all JLs sometime in 2022.As seen on our new '23 JLR: Behind the front passenger tire, looks like a bolt-on. Any ideas?
Out of curiosity, why wasn't it installed to the driver's side as well as passenger's side?Crash mitigation. Prevents the passenger front tire from impacting/crushing that area in an accident. Added to all JLs sometime in 2022.
That thing could puncture your gas tank in an accident…. better issue a recall ???
Pfft yeah right like someone would be in the drivers seat during a crash. what are you on?Out of curiosity, why wasn't it installed to the driver's side as well as passenger's side?
my guess is the axle tube is more likely to break on the passenger side..I am sure the FAD is a weak spot...Out of curiosity, why wasn't it installed to the driver's side as well as passenger's side?
that’s actually a good idea, I guess it could just be taken on and off as you please since it’s bolted?I can't say for sure, but I am taking it off before the next off road trip. That stupid bracket got hung up on so many rocks on my last outing.
it is actually more than just bolted on....that’s actually a good idea, I guess it could just be taken on and off as you please since it’s bolted?
Bingo! Instead of getting rid of the FAD, they add a Band-Aid if the FAD fails. Reminds me of the old lady who swallowed a fly song.my guess is the axle tube is more likely to break on the passenger side..I am sure the FAD is a weak spot...
