I want to say our 4 door has about a 2 gallon reserve from when the light comes on, I would expect the 2 door to be similar. The owners manual says the 2 door vs 4 door has a different capacity but I am curious if they actually have different tanks or it’s just a difference in the filler neck vent like the older 13 vs 19 gallon tanks.

As for the gas cooling the pump I had read that being submerged is what cooled the pump. Well my son’s Dodge van needed a fuel pump replaced and that idea was quickly proven wrong when I did the work. The pump was basically sideways and top mounted so as the fuel level went down more and more of the pump was exposed and not bathed in gas. After doing more research I found out that the cooling happened from the fuel being pumped through the pump. If you let the tank run dry and you suck air is when you lose its cooling method.

Just back from flying rockets at Lucerne. Marveled at the clear view of San Jacinto and the San Gabriels, usually unseen back the days of the sweet smell of ozone.
Bingo. I moved to the L.A. area in the late 80s. From the bottom of the foothills you couldn't even see the mountains. I can't remember the last time that happened. Yep, gas is more expensive, but being able to run around without your chest hurting from the smog somehow seems worth it.

If you'll permit me a "back in my day" (my kids' line) remark---I grew up in the middle of the L.A. basin in the '50s and '60s, then went to college in Pasadena. By the late 1980s there was no smog... 🙄 (tho I agree 100% with clean air as a good tradeoff for higher gas prices).

What is the max fuel amount that is useable on a flat surface?

I'm trying to figure out my remaining usable fuel once the yellow light comes on.
My 2020 2 door has a 17.5 gallon tank. Per JScan analysis, Jeep set my tank to ignore 2.5 gallons on the fuel gauge. This can be adjusted in JScan to recognize the full 17.5 gallons or any other adjustment to increase the “reserve.”

Funny enough I was just noticing this issue this past week. I did some rough math looking at my average MPG and miles to empty vs what the fuel gauge read and how much fuel I had just pumped and realized there is at least 2 plus "missing" gallons in the calculation. The math wasn't working out compared to what my fuel gauge was reading. This definitely tracks with my observations and now it makes sense.
