I will be the lone voice of descent here.

I would swap that pan out asap.

Easy to do and way cheaper than finding out you were wrong later.

My understanding is that the pan contains the fillter.

Could have smashed filter as well.
Completely agree. There's usually not much clearance between the pan and filter.

That part is one of the weak links on the JL. I've mashed mine too. It's way way too wimpy.

Yeah Im real worried, but I cant find anywhere to buy replacements
Get the MORE oil pan tranny skid. Done.

That part gets tossed anyway when you install most skids.

I looked into that, but I should still replace the oil pan?
Your transmission pan looks dented. That could be serious as others have pointed out. For peace of mind I would at least pull it and inspect it or have someone who is qualified do it.

That’s a transmission crossmember but I don’t know the exact nomenclature used in the Mopar parts system.
I have one of those lying out behind the garage. It's off a 2018 JLU Sport S, 8 speed auto. You can have it for the cost of shipping it. But let me suggest an alternative. If you are going to be going places where you are going to be doing that kind of bashing, why not go with a decent skid plate?

for example. I have one of those installed, which is why I have that crossmember lying out behind the garage.

OTOH, I see that you are in/around Rochester Hills, which doesn't seem to be way out in the sticks. Surely there's a shop around there that does installs of skids and such. If you can find one they too should have a pile of those things lying out behind the garage.

I would replace the pan. Lots of skid plates out there. Just pick one.

+1 on the mountain off-road. Haven't seen the jl version in person but the oil pan skid on my jk is beastly. They did lie on the no drill claim jk has to drill one hole so look at the instructions before you buy.

Thanks, Im going to have to talk to the dealership
Good idea. Don't wait long. Driving like that may or may not be a bad thing. But I wouldn't want to find out it was bad.

Skip to 1:00 and you will see the replacement pan and filter are combined in this trans.

Dented pan is bad mojo.

sorry to revive an old post but i was wondering if 68248652AB could be added to a 6 Spd Manual Rubi? I noticed that they don't come with one and according to the Mopar website, this part would not fit my Jeep - they apparently come standard on automatics.

My 2 door manual Rubicon came with one; odd that the 4 door wouldn’t.

I removed mine when I installed the MORE skid plate anyway.

mine does not have it eventhough there are threaded holes for where it would go...
