LOL . . . My JLUR moves fast enough for what I expect of it.

I traded in my Scat pack Challenger for my JLUR and that car was so stupid fast that my heart would start hammering when I really got on it blowing past 100 with ease.

My JLUR gets my heart hammering when I was driving to El Paso on I-10 and the speed limit is 85 and the wind is blowing

My 19' Rubicon is limited to 100mph

Guess its because of the factory KM2's we have in the middle east

I passed a couple cars on a backroad recently, got into it as hard as I could, and after I pulled back into the right lane I saw the speedo needle drop down from above 100mph. No idea how fast I reached, but it was completely smooth and drama free. I said to my wife ā€œwell that was over 100ā€ and she was shocked to find out we were going that fast. FWIW. Completely stock Sport S.

with tires rated for it, I would bet that the 3.6 has enough hp to get you up to 130. which is way faster than you should ever go if you have any concern for your own safety and decide to try it on a closed road (would never advocate trying anything remotely close to that on public roads). these vehicles start to become very unstable quickly after you get past 80 mph

I had an '02 Nissan Altima with a 3.5 V6 (240 HP) and it would top out at about 135. No way the JL would hit even close to that with either engine option - way heavier and terrible aerodynamics.

I'll take that bet.

Weight doesn't limit top speed but yeah, the aerodynamics aren't going to let it go 130mph IMHO.

I haven't got any numbers on Cd or frontal area on the JL so I'll go about it from a different direction.

Power required increases with the cube of velocity. That means it takes 8 times the power to go twice as fast. Half of 130mph is 65 mph. 1/8 of 285hp is 36hp. If a jeep can't hit 65mph with a 36 hp engine it won't hit 130 with a 285hp engine.

Another way to look at it. 130mph is 30% faster than 100mph. Going 30% faster takes 2.2 times the HP. Disregarding powertrain losses because they happen in both cases, can a JL go 100mph on a "130hp" engine?

Could a TJ break 100mph with the 4 cylinder? It was rated at around 120hp I think?

it all depends on the height of the cliff, that being said I can do 90 no prob which is plenty fast
