Step 1. Reprogram so your Jeep knows it’s running 33” tires. That will change your shift points and may fix or mediate your problem. You can buy a JL TAZER online and they’re great for a lot of tweaks including changing your tire size and can be bought for about $350.
This is not true. Stop spreading this around. You can not manually reprogram shift points. The Tazer can only reprogram the speedometer.

Just to keep everyone updated
I went to Jeep Service Center and told them about what im facing... they said being in the 7th gear is fine... it depends on many things such us tires, lift kit and wind.
I asked also to get the rubicon program and they said thats not possible because the rubicon is only for the rubicon so its not possible.

1 thing that really shocked me is that he said the the jeep grand Cherokee also stays on the 7th gear!!

You must be missing something here. You do not need “the rubicon program”. You need to change your tire size to make your speedometer more accurate. This does absolutely nothing to your transmission.

Your dealer is right, there’s nothing wrong with it staying in 7th.

Are you sure about this? I don't have an automatic Jeep, so I can't test the theory. However, I do have a Sprinter van with 7-speed automatic. There is only one place in the variant coding I found for tire size. Changing it affected the speedometer/odometer, and absolutely affected the transmission shift points. The Sprinter comes with different tire sizes in different markets and has different rear end gearing options. I'm sure the engineers took this into account when designing things. I would expect the same for Jeep. Sports and Rubicon come with different tire sizes and gearing. The final drive ratios are not the same, yet they use the same automatic transmission.

Re-gear my friend

Too much drag for the car to hold 8th gear with the lift

My JLR won't hold 8th if its slightly windy on the highway and I'm on stock lift and 33's

4.88 so you could upgrade to 35's later on ;)

Yes I’m sure. The transmission learns as you drive, it cannot be manually adjusted.

And it can't properly learn without correct information. Part of that correct information is an accurate speedometer reading that can only be maintained by manually adjusting the actual tire size with a programmer.

Correct tire height = Accurate speedometer
Accurate speedometer = Optimal shift points

The ZF 8 speed transmission requires accurate imput readings to determine optimal up and down shifts. CURRENT GROUND SPEED, current rpm, current gear, and current throttle depression are a few examples of said imputs.

This thread has enough problems already because a bit of a language barrier coupled with a smidge of poor wording being taken out of context. It does not need misinformation piled on by saying an accurate speedometer has no affect on the transmission.

Since I actually read more than the first sentence of what you took the time to type, yes, you are perfectly correct in you assessment of the sprinter and it's similarities to the jeep.

Stop spreading lies. Feel free to look into it if you like, but no, reprogramming does not affect shift points.

Lies generally come in statements. Truth is generally accompanied by details and explanation.

Does anyone know how to flip someone off on this forum? I can’t find the emoji for it.
