I got a brand new Rubicon 392 5 days ago, enjoying every bit of that car so far until yesterday.

I encountered a very weird problem with the air conditioning. I live in a moderately hot climate and the AC is cold and sufficient for me.

I started up my car and drove for around half an hour, then went somewhere and parked the car with the engine and AC running, left the car for 10 minutes and came back to a hot AC all of a sudden. I tried driving off to see if it's a fan problem, still hot. Tried AC MAX still just warm air blowing. The compressor wouldn't kick in. I turned off the car, turned it back on then i heard the compressor kicking in, i heard it, it was kinda loud. then the AC was back to normal.

Two days ago this happened when i was waiting for my friend outside his house but the compressor kicked back in within 5 minutes after we drove off without shutting the car off.

I don't really know what to do other than take it to the dealer honestly, other than that 98% of the time i drove this beast the AC was functioning properly.

Sounds busted. It's under warranty, take it to the dealer. It should blow a little bit cooler while driving, but it should never blow hot air while the A/C is on.

If the compressor is running, but never cycles on and off, then it probably is just a little low on freon. That will make the evaporator in the dash to freeze up and no more cold air flow. You'll lose the air flow through the system and generally not blow any air/hot air.

If the compressor isn't coming on, there could be a NUMBER of problems. Too low of freon, bad high or low pressure switches, bad control module, bad clutch on the compressor, etc.

Take it to the dealer. There’s nothing you could do to it on your own anyway.
