Last summer they opened all the bottle from one of my order and it took them 3 weeks before releasing it. Also would not be surprised waste oil require it special form. Anyway why would I bother with all that I have a horizon lab here :)
Yep; that is one of the many reasons I stopped using Blackstone (single lab and not all testing methods are current such as fuel dilution being tested by a highly subjective flame test) https://www.blackstone-labs.com/about-oil-analysis/#ASTM

Whereas Polaris is global, performs all latest ASTM tests including gas chromatography for fuel dilution and includes either TAN or TBN tests (depending on oil type) at no extra cost for either AND they are ISO 270525 certified which means (https://www2.eoilreports.com/A2LA_2145-01):

ISO/IEC 17025 is the international standard for testing and calibration laboratories. It sets out requirements for the competence, impartiality, and consistent operation of laboratories, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of their testing and calibration results.

While that does not mean that Blackstone is incompetent, it does mean they have chosen to not consistently repeat their testing processes and systems against a certified third party under audit conditions.

I'll take Polaris over Blackstone any day--especially since they are cheaper.

The only nock I have against Polaris is that the website is confusing to me.

You should see the instruction in the kit. I spend a couples of hours reading them, than doing cross reference on their web site and so on. Let say once you understand they make senses.

I guess the part about filling out the form or submitting online.
Once you have set up your equipment online, it is easier to submit it online and just add a few details to the sticker that goes on the sample bottle. The portal can be a little daunting at first, but once you set everything up, it is easy to maintain and trend from it.

I can give you buzz next weekend and walk you through it.
