didn’t have plans to break down my current wheels and tires (37s and stock wheels and going to 38s and beadlocks)

when I do wheel, I do wheel pretty hard as noted by the rough shape of my stock wheels. Headed to run the Rubicon in July. Losing a valve stem seems to be a common occurrence from what I’ve heard.
I’ve lost a valve stem and it sucked. New tires (when the time comes) will be installed with shorter stems. And I now carry two emergency replacements.

Didn’t lose a stem on the Rubicon running over the counter metal units. No issues with the rock rings.

I am getting the Icon Rebounds installed next and was looking at the Apex Rapid Deflators. Did you install the standard size?
Yes. Standard size fits perfect.

The one thing about the RPVs was that my hose system with Haltec air chucks didn't go down far enough on them to depress the Schrader valve enough. I put the Haltec air chucks in a lathe and counterbored the ends about 3/32 and they now work great. So, whatever air chucks you have, try them before you hit the trails, or you'll end up like me, bumming air from someone.

Thanks for the info. I was looking online and it looks like no one can get me the Apex RPVs in a timely manner. Looks like 10-14 days out. So most likely not gonna happen. Unless anyone knows a site that can do 2-3 day delivery on them.

Another way to go is the Power Tank MONSTER VALVE. It's basically a big rig valve stem that you add to your wheels.

Thanks, Roanie. You always find the cool stuff. I have the Apex rapid tire deflators on my Method Bead Grip wheels, and I think they are too long. The Method wheels have the valve stems pointing out to the side of the wheel instead of to the center of the wheel like the ICON Rebound Pro wheels do. If someone is trying to decide between the Method and the ICON wheel for bead retention and wants to use a rapid tire deflator valve stem, they would be better off choosing the ICON wheel with the Apex deflator or the KMC Monster deflator, or the Method wheel with the KMC Monster deflator. The Monster deflator looks like it is quite a bit shorter than the Apex deflator. Here is a picture of an Apex deflator valve stem on one of my Method wheels. I think I'm just waiting to lose a valve stem with these, so I'll change to the KMC Monster deflators instead. Hopefully that will save you having to help me put a 40" spare tire on my Jeep this year on the Rubicon.

All is not lost. If that was my predicament, I might be tempted to machine a new port for a stem in one of the slots, angled as necessary for filling and protection. Simple job for a machine shop.

I have been using the Apex RPV valves on my ‘19 JLR for several years and really love them. I have now upgraded to a ‘25 JLUR-X.

Has anyone used the Apex RPV valves on the Mopar bead lock wheels? If so, which size and how are they working out? The stem is really recessed on that rim, so wondering how difficult it is to operate the lever.

The RPV XL raises the collar about 1/2".

Thanks. I saw that, but the valve recess appears to be about 1” deep, which appears to put the lever in the hole. Albeit, near the top for the XL.
