Unsolicited compliments on Jeep

I get lots of compliments on my Bikini, usually about the colour and often just on the general way it’s built. We haven’t had the 4xE long enough to notice yet.

What cargo basket do you have in the rear? Like you can put the top all the way down.

Its an Ace engineering basket. I didn’t use their mounting bracket’s. See post #117 in my build thread for more details (link below). Modifying their bracket may also be possible.

Once my kids got a little older I had more freedom to drive what makes me happy. I used to get all kinds of attention in my 5th Gen Camaro SS. It was bright Inferno Orange and it had long tube headers, no cats and a Corsa exhaust so it was plenty loud as well. I never did much in terms of visual mods with it. The only thing really was pulling off the black rally stripes. Every orange Camaro in the metro area had them at the time so not having them made mine unique.

The Jeep gets her fair share of compliments as well. I can't recall seeing another Jeep in my area with half doors, especially not a 2dr, and a soft top and that's caused a few people to make a comment or give a nod. I've been asked a couple of times what wheels I'm running. I have a feeling once I get my CJ Renegade style stripes on it'll catch more eyes. But I've only been ducked once so maybe I need to added an angry grille and a bunch of accent colored accessories ?.

The bikini color gets compliments a few times a week. It's pretty unique in a sea of grayscale cars.

This is the first vehicle I’ve owned that gets random compliments with some frequency. Jeeps just have a presence I suppose

I get quite a few random comments on my firecracker red 2dr. I'm used to it.
My favorite goes way back to the days when i DD'd a built CJ-7. I was at a red light in the left turn lane, and a soccer mom in an exploder rolls up next to me. Her kiddo in back excitedly says something like 'aw, cool Jeep, look at that...', and soccer mom gives me an unneeded embarrassed smile and hits the auto up on the power windows. She didn't understand, but me and that kid did!

I've received several compliment on mine since the lift and wheels were added, and often compliment others on their builds. It's a good feeling when your blood, sweat, and tears (mostly empty wallet tears but a few from cracked knuckles) are recognized by unsolicited compliments.

I'm about to trade in my 2017 124 Abarth for a new JL 2 door manual. More often than compliments in the nearly 6 years I've been daily driving it I get a puzzled look and people ask "What is that?". Switching to daily driving a Jeep is going to be an adjustment for sure.

The Grinch receives equal comments on the color and the Grinch theme. Lots of ducks left on the hood and fender as well.

I have not received as many compliments on some of the sports cars I have owned.

My gray Toyota 4Runner never got a single compliment. But my Gecko Rubicon gets a lot of them…. Most Wranglers in my area are black or gray. So, this color really stands out (LOL, which can be good or bad! I’ve become extra considerate & courteous on our local roads!)

I never get any compliment probably because my Jeep is boring looking.
There was one time I thought I was about to get a compliment. I parked my Jeep and jumped out, a cute looking girl works at the store walking towards me and told me that I couldn't park there.

Maybe a compliment or a complaint, but my neighbors on both sides (I live in a townhouse) have said they can feel the rumble in their house whenever I started my SRT. It's fully stock...?

I think one of the best compliments I received with my Wrangler was unspoken. An older Asian dude (I'm also an older Asian dude, so is it still racist and ageist to point it out? Yup. ) parked next to my topless Sting Gray Wrangler, tube doors on the front, with cheap 17" wheels and 33" tires, no lift.

He was driving a late model TRD Tacoma, obviously setup for overlanding - or at least wanting to look like it's setup for overlanding - with fresh, unstressed bright orange recovery boards, shiny unscratched shovel, gigantic high-lift jack, unfaded Rotopax cans, and a few more misc TRD add-ons accessories from the dealer.

I'm watching from afar, and he gets out of his Taco, walks over to my Jeep, and just circles it, gazing at it like he's at the auto show, as if there's a pretty young woman in high-heels next to it. He walks away after some long looks, and I see a bit of head shake and head nod. I think he learned something about himself that day. LOL

I was getting gas recently when a woman walked up to the pump next to mine and said "Nice Jeep".

I took it as an insult. I haven't dented up the body work yet. People don't have patience, I only had it for a month!
