Under the seat Lockbox- no key

Good morning all!! Just bought a 2017 Rubicon that had an under the seat lockbox. Unfortunately the dealership did not have the key. The only locksmith I talked to told me I was SOL as he wouldn't be able to do anything for me with the type of lock it is. Any chance anyone has any suggestions other than completely uninstalling it. Any help would be appreciated!

Remove the seat and drill the lock. It sounds like it's your only option.

I would ask in a JK forum, I'm sure people have lost their keys before. No room for a lockbox under a JL seat so' your not going to get much feedback here.

Can you tell what brand it is? The only 2 underseat lockbox options I remember from jku were bestop or tuffy security. Maybe email and see if they can get you a replacement key.
